Although the posters being son and father make this funny, it’s apparently very annoying for people on Wikipedia that editors require citations in the form of things like articles.

Emily St J Mandel was (naturally) very upset that her Wikipedia article showed her married to a man, when she was in fact divorced from him and had a girlfriend. She did not wish for her ex to be associated with her name, implying they were married, but investigation proved the only way to change it was to have an article published referring to her divorce that she could cite.

That must be quite frustrating. You can see why you and your dad agreeing on your birthplace should FEEL like sufficient consensus for it to be your birthplace, but you can also see why it would be inadmissible on the planet’s trivia resource.

Game Changer S2E4 "A Sponsored Episode" also has Sam Reich repeatedly being asked by contestants over and over where he's from, to which he provides the answer "Cambridge, Massachusetts" each time. This is also definitely not the only episode in which he states Cambridge, Massachusetts as his hometown. Sam Reich is very much on record as being from Cambridge, Massachusetts but I suppose Dropout shows don't meet Wikipedia's standards for source materials?

I loved when “Drift Compatible” entered pop lexicon cause we were in DESPERATE need for a way to platonically express “one of us to the other is as a limb to a body; we are a left and right feet of a dancer; we do not need to speak because any one word inspires an exchange of unspoken words that conveys a full conversation in which a mutual conclusion is determined in an instant”. ok so being a parent IS really hard but not the way you think. well its probably hard the way you think but its ALSO really hard because my toddler pronounces peanut butter like "peepee yaya". and see, because he learns from me, i can't say "peepee yaya", no matter how much i want to, because i have to teach him that it is actually pronounced "peanut butter". and dont even get me started on how he pronounces "shaun the sheep" (shit the shit)
