Klaus had been painting in his art room, something he had been doing more often to try and keep himself sane, when Rebekah found him. “Hello, sister.” The hybrid greeted her. “I think you should know by now that I’ll always make time for you.” He put his paint brush down.
“Perfect. That was the answer I was hoping to hear,” Rebekah beamed, a smile easing onto her features as she looked at her brother.
Rebekah couldn’t remember the last time she’d seen her brother, but she knew that it’d been far too long. Bounding up to the front door of Niklaus’s home, the blonde didn’t bother knocking -- a nasty habit she’d picked up over the years, where family was concerned anyway. “Niklaus,” she called out, making her way through rooms until she’d found him. “I was hoping you could find some time in your busy schedule for your favorite little sister,” she beamed.
as the male figure approached his front door, lily already had her lower body suspended out of the window. the sound of the door shutting closed echoed through the house followed by the male’s voice calling for lily’s female friend. lily lowered herself out the window, hanging by just her arms. footsteps could be heard climbing up the stairs. the two girls said their goodbyes and lily pushed off against the house, dropping two stories, landing gracefully on her feet. upon landing in the front yard something was thrown at her head, it was her hat. she must of forgotten it in the room. lily looked up to thank them when she saw the male waving at her, gun in his hand. he shot. he missed. but it didn’t take lily long to realize that it wasn’t bullets he was shooting at her, it was vervain darts. YIKES ! the blonde took off down the street, bumping into someone in front of the neighboring home “oh w h o o p s ”
Rebekah was a little caught off guard when someone bumped into her, looking up to find Lily -- who appeared as though she was fleeing from something. “What the bloody hell are you running from?” The blonde asked suddenly, brows furrowing as she peered over the younger female’s shoulder.
Sawyer turned to the blonde that he recognized, it was Jesse’s mom and he felt a little bit of relief seeing her. “Jason is trying to kill me,” he stated turning his head to see if someone was still there. “I need to hide or he’l kill me.
“Who’s Jason, and why would he want to kill you?” Rebekah questioned, allowing her gaze to scan over the area around them -- still searching for this other person he was speaking of. “No one is going to kill you, do you understand?”
Hayley found her slender frame sinking down to the ground, another screech escaping her lips as her hands clung to the top of her skull. She couldn’t make sense of what was happening because there was no one nearby to be inflicting such pain on her. And it was far too convenient for her nightmares - her flashbacks - to start happening around the same time. Granted, she had experienced nightmares before, but never this vivid and never specifically about the worst moments in her life. And she’d never had involuntary flashbacks before. Part of her was fearful for what was happening, but part of her was too encompassed by everything to care about anything other than making the pain stop. After ten or fifteen minutes had passed, she felt the pain slowly begin to fade. Her hands dropped from her head to touch her face, ensuring that she was okay as her hazel hues lifted to look at her sister-in-law. “Bex…” The hybrid breathed out with relief, grateful to see her best friend standing near her. “W-What in the hell just happened?”
Rebekah stood there silently, staring at her sister-in-law -- unsure of what she could do to help the other female. Her gaze scanned the area nearby, searching for someone who could potentially be inflicting this pain on her best friend. Had she actually found someone nearby, she wouldn’t have hesitated in killing them -- wanting to bring an abrupt halt to whatever was happening to Hayley. “I don’t know,” she admitted truthfully, approaching the other female rather quickly, kneeling down beside her. “I was hoping you could tell me that.”
Sawyer was running, he couldn’t stop running. His mind was racing, he kept seeing him wherever he went; there he was. But he was supposed to be dead, but he kept finding Sawyer over and over again. The witch didn’t understand, so he just kept running and running until he stumbled upon someone, his heart racing fast and his face all sweaty, and he was out of breath, “We have to hide, he’s trying to kill me,” he muttered to the person in front of him, turning when clearly there was no one but him and the other person there.
“Who’s trying to kill you?” Rebekah questioned, looking over the male’s shoulder -- searching for the person he was speaking of. However, upon finding there to be no one else in the area, her gaze returned to Sawyer. “Tell me who’s after you, and I’ll help you -- but you’ve got to tell me who’s trying to kill you, Sawyer. I’m not going to let anything happen to you, okay?”
It was the middle of the night and the brunette had just woken up from a horrific nightmare. Before that evening, she couldn’t remember the last time that she had endured a nightmare and to have it seem so… real. It may have only been a dream, but it had genuinely felt as though she were reliving one of the worst moments in her life and it had shaken her up. Hayley had tried to go back to sleep, but every time she closed her eyes, she began to vividly watch another horrible moment from her past unfold – forcing her to relive it as if it were just happening all over again. She desperately needed some fresh air and to clear her mind, so she slipped on suitable clothing before silently heading out the door. Her slender frame casually strolled down the dark streets of the town, trying to find a little peace of mind when she suddenly felt excruciating pain in her skull. The hybrid hunched over, hands moving to the top of her head as she let out a screech of pain. It was unlike any other pain that she had experienced before – toping labor, being mentally tormented by witches, shifting into wolf form and everything in between.
With her husband consistently busy with work, and her children having their own lives to tend to, Rebekah needed some fresh air -- she needed to go for a walk, and hopefully clear her mind. However, the sound of someone screaming out in pain brought the original to a halt -- immediately rushing toward the source of the scream, brow furrowing when she came to the realization that it had been Hayley who’d screamed out in pain. “Hayley,” she began, concern clear in her tone as she eyed her best friend. “What’s wrong?”
With his back turned to the door of the office, Beaux crossed his arms scanning the complicated looking board before him even once he finished his shift for the day. A crime that only few people worked on, as there were still some people in the department that didn’t know of the supernatural species. With a deep sigh the male followed the red strings of wool that connected names and pictures and motives but still couldn’t see what was the one thing that connects everything. Being deep in his thoughts he only realized someone had knocked once the door opened so he quickly turned around to see it he had to hide the board from one of his colleagues that wasn’t aware of everything around them. “Hey, did you need Matt?” He asked as he was in his office after all.
“Well, I had hoped I’d find him here,” Rebekah commented, allowing her gaze to shift across the room before coming to a halt at the sight of Beaux. “To be quite honest with you, however, I hadn’t honestly expected to find him here -- but a girl can dream, can’t she?” Allowing for a smile to form along her features as she spoke.
Ultimately, Rebekah was well aware that her children triggering their genes was an inevitable thing -- no matter what she did, they’d all have to trigger their genes at some point in their lives. Regardless, she couldn’t seem to accept the fact that they’d all have to be vampires someday -- it was just something that Rebekah had never wanted for her children, and she assumed Matt felt the same way.
Throughout the years, she’d become a monster -- that much had become apparent to her -- and that had always, and would always, be something she’d never want for her children. As her bright hues -- now dull as she stared down at her child, who she knew was slowly dying within her grasp. It didn’t matter what she did, nor did she truly believe there’d be any way she could deter him from triggering his gene right here and now.
All Rebekah could simply do was hold him, and be there for him when we awoke as a newly turned vampire. Of course she’d give him the option of following through with the turning, but of course she wouldn’t force him into completing the transition if that wasn’t what he wanted. “It’s okay,” she murmured softly, gently rocking him within her grasp. “You can let go,” her words soft as she spoke. It pained her to say that to him, but she knew the pain he was experiencing had to be horrid at this point in time.
“I’ll still be here with you when you wake up,” she whispered softly, brushing her fingertips across her son’s cheeks. “It’s gonna be alright, Jesse.”
At Twenty One years old, Jesse Donovan was fast becoming very well with his magic, and a final year nurse. He was able to help people and he was a sweet young man who had the world at his feet and the ability to make someone smile and feel at ease around him. Until March 15 after his twenty first birthday. He was walking home from the college in the dark before looking forward to see his family for the evening.

The second the oncoming car collided with Jesse’s body, Rebekah could’ve swore her heart stopped in her chest -- frozen in her place for several seconds as her brain attempted to process what had just happened. The sound of his heartbeat slowing in his chest made the older blonde feel sick, barely able to get her legs to move -- stumbling over to her son’s body, kneeling beside him as she pulled him into her lap.
“Jesse,” she pleaded, tears already forming in her eyes. Despite being a vampire herself, she never once wanted her children to carry the vampire gene -- and knowing that they did, it made her sick. Rebekah wished they’d never have to trigger it, but it was inevitable -- she knew that. However, it didn’t make the idea of them triggering their gene any easier. “Jess, you gotta stay with me, okay?” Her voice cracking as her hues settled on her son’s face.
Quinn smiled to herself as she felt the cold, crisp air against her face after a long shift at the gym. She loved the fresh air, especially after a long day inside. She heard footsteps behind her and turned around, “Hello.”
“Quinn,” the blonde mused with a warm smile. “And just how are you, my dear?” Rebekah questioned, head cocking to the side in curiosity.
“One of my favorite scents.” She mused for a moment. Before her hues turned to glance at the blonde. “Oh, here and there. I’ve been around Bex. Mainly decorating the house, even if my boys haven’t been around much other than Eirik sometimes. Or here, though I am surprised to see you outside of the walls of that little office of yours.”
“I have been spending far too much time in that office of mine as of late,” the blonde stated with a subtle nod of her head. “In fact, it’s made me incredibly far behind on my Christmas shopping,” she joked, a small laugh escaping her lips.
Davina had to tend to the shop this morning, she had bought some roses in hopes that it would liven up the cafe. She knew she could charm them to last a little longer and she smiled as she brought one to her nose. “There’s something I love about this smell.” She said happily.
“Roses do smell rather lovely, don’t they?” Rebekah spoke rhetorically, making her way into the cafe. Her eyes locked onto her sister in law, a warm smile gracing the blonde’s lips. “You know, it’s been far too long since I last saw you – care to fill me in on just where you’ve been?”
tanner’s hands pushed firmly into her pockets as she left the warmth of the movie theater. her only night of this week was being spent watching some obscure french love story. snowflakes fell in her hair and she fumbled for her keys. as soon as her fingers grasped her key ring, someone bumped right into her. she went spinning. quickly managing to steady herself. “excuse me.” she said flatly.
Rebekah had just barely caught a glimpse of the collision between Tanner and another person, brows furrowing at the tone behind the female’s words. “Are you alright, darling?” The blonde questioned, quirking a brow in the girl’s direction.
Klaus heard the familiar voice, but didn’t stop his painting to respond. “Am I?” He asked, finally looking up at her. “Well, who could turn down an invitation like that?” He grinned as he put his paint brush down. “Let me grab my coat and then you can force me to get into the holiday spirit.”
“Perfect,” the blonde responded with a smile. “I was hoping you’d go along with it, because it would’ve been such a shame had I been forced to drag you along,” a soft chuckle escaping Rebekah’s lips as she peered over at her brother with a wide smile.
