MEN NEED FEMINISM
They do infact. Not only women ofcourse need feminism, because believe it or not we still get paid less on average. 1 in 3 women experiences sexual harassment of Some sort (I’m Not saying men dont, Because they do, But Statistics show that that is a lot more rare. Doesn’t mean its less serious its Just more common for women) We are taken less serious en get sexist comments left and right. Women are the main victim of sex trafficking, they make up 70 percent. There are more examples globally of the oppression of women. And feminism has shown that it worked, we can vote now and we can enter every workfield. You still might recieve sexist comments, But atleast we can work there now. I can go on all day about the disadvantage women face from day to day. But there are more reasons to be feminist Than women only.
AND THEN MEN COME IN
B4 y’all gonna say something about that men also face problem, Yes they do. It isn’t oppression tho Because these problems are created by older generation of men. Such as toxic masculinity. Even now if you show Any sign of femininity as a man you are being called “gay” (being gay is totally okay but you should be able to express yourself despite your sexuality). BUT THATS WHY MEN NEED FEMINISM. If men are equal to women that means that feminity is so too. Because a feminist embraces all women (that includes ofc transwomen, TERFS get the fuck out) and that also means feminine women and more masculine women. Which means femininity is equal to masculinity also. So toxic masculinity would be destroyed along with other problems men face. That means that men could show their more “feminine” side which is often associated with emotion. Ofcourse having emotions is Not feminine But men are way less expressive when it comes to emotions and seeking help. The reason why more men Than woman commit suïcide is Because women have higher depression diagnoses rates. This means that either women are way more depressed or as in the suïcide rate shows, men are too ashamed and dont seek help and that way they cant be diagnosed. To normalize these things we must ofcourse make people more aware about mental health. In which feminism plays in this a big role, to destroy these forms of toxic masculinity, feminism isn’t about women only, its about equality, in that way also about men.
I do wanna note that these suïcide rates Doesn’t mean men are more depressed Than women. Research even shows that women have more suïcidal thoughts and behaviour. Suïcide attempts are even more common amongst women, but these actions are more often Not lethal. Since men on average have more easy acces to a gun they go for more “effective” or violent methods. To prevent this we need mental health awareness and along with that destroy the toxic masculinity of Not showing emotions.
