vincent price calling christopher lee a bitch asmr
This man really said bitch in cursive outloud
I’ve reblogged this so many times but this is the first time I’ve seen “bitch in cursive” and it took me the fuck out.
Vincent Price: Congratulations, Vernon! What a fall. All the way down the stairs. Wonderful. But then you always were good at falling from a great height.
Christopher Lee: Can’t compare, my dear Jeffrey, with your famous death scenes which you played so brilliantly for so many years.
Vincent Price, offscreen: Bitch.
Bitch.
I have watched this scene a hundred time and only just realized that Peter Cushing is standing in the background watching these two snark at each other

Sympathetic Magic: What is it, and how does it work?
Unlike a lot of witchcraft-centric terminology, you don’t particularly see “sympathetic magic” thrown around a lot. This is because sympathetic magic is an umbrella term with lots of magics under its hypothetical umbrella. That doesn’t mean it’s not important to know what sympathetic magic is, however!
WHAT IS SYMPATHETIC MAGIC?
Put simply, sympathetic magic is an old type of magic in which an object that is associated with a target is used to seek influence over said target.
An easy example of sympathetic magic is magics that use poppets. Poppets are powerful forms of sympathetic magic as they are a physical representation of a human target of the witch’s magic. Poppets are considered to be powerful because they often contain a taglock(s).
Sympathetic isn’t limited to just people, however. It can be used to influence events (an example being that if you desire a monetary gain e.g. a raise at work, you may want to include money in your spell), or even weather.
HOW DOES SYMPATHETIC MAGIC WORK?
There are two factors that make sympathetic magic work. Some magics involve both factor, some magics only one.
“Like-attracts-like”: an example of this, may be that should you wish to bring someone happiness, you can craft a poppet in their likeness and dress it in yellow. You could leave it in the sun with the intent of channeling the connotations of happiness from the sunshine. You could anoint it with an oil made to promote happiness, or you could tie a yellow ribbon around its head or heart. The idea of “like-attracts-like” is pretty self-explanatory —the method of the magic reflects your desired outcome, or to use the words of Sir James George Frazer: ‘that an effect resembles its cause’.
Items once in contact, retain a bond despite distance: this factor is one that states that once someone or something has been in contact with someone or something, the essence of the object/person will forever be bound to the object/person that touched it. This is why things like hair and nail clippings can be used as taglocks —it doesn’t matter where or when the hair fell out or the nail was clipped. It carries the essence of its former owner, and always will. This can work when influencing events too. For example, if you wish to bring about a storm and can find a tree that is scarred from lightning, you’ve hit the jackpot. A bit of charred bark would be the perfect proxy object for a spell to bring about a storm.
Sympathetic magic can be subtle, or it can be a grandiose display of awesomeness, but that’s entirely your prerogative. I quite like the idea of standing on a heath in a cloak, waving a lightning-charged branch in the air to summon a storm, but I know that my limits are closer to changing my thinking by writing down my negative thoughts and literally eating my words (on sugar paper with edible pens! Be safe!).

This is probably a stupid question, but are Celtic and Gaelic the same thing? Are the gods the same in the polytheism? Sorry for bothering you
Not a stupid question at all! You aren’t bothering me either :)
So, Celtic is an umbrella term that refers to not just Gaelic, but also Brythonic and Gaulish cultures.
Here’s a graphic I made that helps explain what I mean:
So all Gaelic gods are Celtic but not all Celtic gods are Gaelic!
I hope that clears it up. If you have any more questions, please let me know :)

As well as being a tool to loosen one’s inhibitions, alcohol can also be a tool in witchcraft and, like most tools and ingredients, different beverages have different associations.

Paganism 101: Dumb Suppers
With Samhain around the corner (click here for a post about Samhain), you may see the term “dumb supper” crop up in posts surrounding traditions and activities done at this time of heightened liminality (click here for a post about liminality).
What is a dumb supper?
In layman’s terms, a dumb supper is a meal that is held in silence with food reserved for invited spirits. This ceremony is mean to be a time of remembrance and connection to those you have lost. That’s the simplest version of it.
The term “dumb” simply refers to the silence that is observed during the meal, as no one shall speak, no phones shall ring and no external noises such as radios, televisions should be able to be heard. Essentially, a dumb supper should be done in total, utter silence.
*It should be made known that some people may be uncomfortable with the term “dumb” due to its connotations and the fact it was used historically to describe those with disabilities. If you do not wish to call it a dumb supper, there are other names for it such as: spirit’s supper, devotional supper, and remembrance supper.
How do you do a dumb supper?
There is no staunch set of rules for this, aside from the silence. A basic template to follow if you’re unsure or doing this for the first time, may be as follows:
Cleanse your space; empty of it any energy, even if it’s residual. You can do this by burning incense, spritzing or chanting - however you feel is best. If you want to, or are wont to do, cast your circle now.
When you set the table for the meal, set a place for every physical being in attendance, making sure you make it so that the head of the table is set for the spirits who will be joining the supper. You may want to set a place for every spirit you want to invite, but this isn’t always feasible. If you like, you can use tealight candles set around the plate to represent them.
There is no set colour scheme for this ceremony, but black is typical of the season and activity. You may want a black tablecloth or candles on the table itself.
If possible, use candles as a light source.
Upon entering the room in which the supper is being served, no one may speak.
Only once everyone’s food has been served - spirits included - may anyone begin to eat.
During the meal, you may want to speak to your spirit guests in your mind; tell them you think of them, remember memories, share laughter. You may want to simply think about them, if that is easier.
Once the meal is over, you may want to say goodbye (silently of course).
Only when everyone is finished eating may you all leave and exit the room in silence. Once you are out of the ceremony space, the silence can be broken.
Food, drink and menu choices:
The food you serve at your dumb supper is entirely up to you. You may want to incorporate some of the traditional Samhain foods, e.g., apples, game, cider, late Autumn vegetables, etc,. but remember that you may want to serve food that pleases the spirits you invite too.
What do you do at the end of the supper?
This depends on you and your traditions.
If you’ve cast a circle, you will want to remove it and cleanse the area. When it comes to the food, there are a few things you can do to dispose of the food.
Some people choose to burn the meal afterwards - it is said that the smell of the burnt food can bring happiness to the spirits.
Some people will divide the meal out between the guests afterwards to make sure nothing goes to waste.
Some people simply bin it.
