When you sneeze in public, strangers will say “bless you”, even though they don’t know you.

When you ask for directions on the street someone will show you the way, even though they have nothing to gain from it.

People squeeze their legs against the chair so you don’t have to hop over them on your way to your seat in the theatre, and make funny faces to make babies laugh, and purposefully step on leaves to hear them scrunch, and hold the door open for someone leaving behind them, and ask what floor you’re heading to when you enter the elevator, and send others photos of things that reminded them of them, and recommend each other songs, and ask if anyone else wants a coffee because they’re getting one, and make videos teaching how to sew a button, and wish on shooting stars, and share fun facts, and listen to others rant about things they don’t even understand, and let you cross the street first, and give a bit of their food to others, and laugh at jokes they don’t find funny to make you feel good, and listen to kids talk for hours about nonsense, and let you know your keys fell from your pocket, and they may be strangers, but with every little gesture they’re saying “I love you, I love you, I love you”.

I JUST FOUND OUT LADY PENELOPE IS SUPPOSED TO BE 26 EVEN IN TOS???????? SHE'S NOT A 40-YEAR-OLD GIRLBOSS WHO'S BEST FRIENDS WITH JEFF TRACY????????????? THEY DON'T FALL IN LOVE AT THE END????????? I'M SO CONFUSED............ 😭 after briefly sitting in shock (LMAO) i did a ton of frantic research and there are a lot of conflicting sources and ages, but APPARENTLY according to the Magical World of Gerry Anderson book, she's "an old friend of Jeff's from his Agency days", so. i'm sorry but as far as i'm concerned she is in her 40s and they're Appropriately Aged Adult Friends the way she's written in TOS feels so much more like she's an adult friend of jeff tracy's with history and inside jokes and motherly instinct/advice for the boys?? so this being said, please know that when i (eventually) draw her, it's always always always going to be 40-something!Penelope 😭 i promise i would not ship 56-year-old jeff tracy with someone in their 20s!!! thank you for coming to my Ted Talk :'^) (idk if anyone else feels this way too but if you do please lmk that i'm not alone dghjkfldhgfjkd)

I’ve never thought of her and Jeff as an item, but can see how others would. I’m more of the opinion that her father Hugh and Jeff are/were close friends and I make her between Scott and whichever brother you have as second-born.

I’m definitely a TOS Virgil/Penny shipper though…

I would live to see you art her at any age - tbh she can carry it off well. (Must be all that spy training)

I always thought Lady Penelope was in her late thirties in TOS at the very least, whether she was involved with Jeff Tracy or not. But then I like the idea that she was Rhapsody Angel's mentor, which she couldn't be if she were in her twenties during TOS.

honestly it's such a relief to read all of these kind replies (everyone is so nice!!!) and i'm glad the consensus seems to be "late 30s at least" hahaha

i also completely overlooked TOS Virgil/Penny at first (i'm too distracted by Jeff lmao) but between the Anderbad tunnel scene and the fact that her and Virgil are the ones having drinks together at the end of the Dangerous Game episode, i can totally see that too 👀

shoutout to the folks who had replied to this and said something along the lines of "shipping is like playing with barbies in a sandbox" and that all of the character backstories are playdough bc 1) that's so comforting to hear 🥹 and 2) i completely agree SHSHDKDHFKFH
