“The Beatniks” comic strip series is a story about the human experience through the eyes of a group middle school kids; trying to find themselves as they carelessly venture through life. Opening themselves up to new experiences, they look to the world for answer just to find out that they’re more lost than ever. Stumbling through the awkwardness of young love, experiencing the power of true friendships, fearlessly announcing their uncensored form of expression, losing themselves within their own imagination, being scolded for their misunderstood fun, amd much more. This story seeks to bring joy to my people one comic strip at a times, so please enjoy!

I am really excited to share that January and Febuary of 2019, the creator of The Beatniks, Rodney Lambright II will be an artist in resident of the Madison bubbler at Madison Public Library where he will be interacting with the public, running free workshops, and making artwork for his future art exhibition called "Unwanted Sympathy." Check out Residency and Workshop details in the link below. We hope you all will come and pick his brain about the work he will be making and come participate in the free workshops.

Antwon, Monty, and Kione, Point Grove Middle School's toughest crew of kids, otherwise known as "The Dread Head Niggas." This squad runs the halls of Point Grove with there intimating demeaners, but their personalities are only a reflection of the tough situations that they have to face outside of school just to survive everyday life. We hope y’all took some much-needed time to reflect on the highs and lows of 2017. Now it’s time to slide right into 2018 embracing all the joys and obstacles that are yet to follow. And yes.. The Beatniks Comic crew will be right there with you through it all testing your limits, breaking your comfort zones, giving you real life shit and then some. The sky’s the limit so let’s make IT happen this year.

The “Nutmeg Hunniez” have officially arrived. These lovely ladies won’t stand for much, and they always have each others back. To top it off Yen, Mia, and Destiny are amongst the top ranking students at “Point Grove Middle School”—oh and they fully intend on keeping it that way. Keep an eye out for future comic strips with them.

Here’s the last member of our main trio. His name is Paul and he loves to ball. He’s super inquisitive, smart, and easily intimidated. Most of the time he has no clue how, but frequently finds himself neck deep in drama surrounding the bullies at school. If you ask me he’s just an easier target than most because of his kindness.
