No. Just no.
Trouble in paradise.
brain: it seems like problems are happening. would you like to pretend theyāre not and think about fictional characters instead?
me: yes please
So, I'm a (very)latecomer to Foyles War, into series 5 of the box set dvd (a lockdown gift from a loved one).
I can't believe I haven't noticed this wonderful programme before.
I may be alone in this but I find the intimate relationship scenes between Foyle and Andrew utterly mesmerising.
So much warmth conveyed with so little physical contact. Wonderful stuff.
Again, why had it taken me this long to watch this show? š
Finnās only been dead a month but now itās like he never even existed. How hard is it to mention him? How hard is it for Vic to say how happy Finn wouldāve been to see her adopting? Or for Adam to say how much Finn wouldāve wanted to meet Isaac? Or for someone to suggest Isaac have the middle name Finn? Or for Tracy to say āat times like this I ask myself what would Finn doā? How hard is it for the villagers to reference him? Everybodyās going on about Emmaās death and who killed her but no one can reference the horrific and unfair murder of her son? Whatās the point of a shocking death if thereās no aftermath? Whatās the point of SSW if it has no real emotional impact on the village?

The only reason I can think of why theyāve erased Finn and his death from the show is because theyāre planning on having Chrissie kill Lachlan, and since theyāre doing the āmother kills her sonā story twice in 3 months they have to act like the first story didnāt happen to minimise how repetitive it is. If that isnāt true then the aftermath of Finnās death is simply pathetic storytelling.
This makes sensešš¼
Seems Victoria and Adam have forgotten about Finn. All smiles without a care in the world. I thought Finn was a brother and a best friend.
And btw, it seems Moira is a bit unhappy. Either she wants time with baby or she canāt be as happy about it like the others.

spoiler alert: it's a soap so characters will die regardless of sexuality, e.g James, Val, Katie, Donna, Joanie, Holly, etc etc
uhhhh when have i ever said that he died because of his sexuality lmao? i reblogged something that implied that but i didnt say it?? i literally said in my post that he might still have died even if people liked him?? also the problem i have w the people that you named is that they all got storylines? proper, detailed, long storylines. finnās only ever been an extension of someone elseās. the problem i have is that they brought in another gay character so they could have that ārepā but never let him be in a relationship that didnāt end badly, or portray finn negatively. iām bitter about the way he was treated, and if heād died after a shitton of good storylines, and had his death about HIM, rather than emma or ross or moira, iād probably be fucking okay with it. donāt send me these kind of asks because iām allowed to be pissed off and iām not hurting anyone by calling out emmerhellās dickery towards one of their only lgbt characters
they literally throw salt in the wound by having tracy call about having a date for Finn while heās out in the cold darkness bleeding out. As the audience, this was an actually shock moment to see that the person who in fact got shot was Finn but as someone invested in the characters and seeing yet another lgbtqa character get dealt such a shitty hand, Iām just left feeling bitter. Finn may not have been everyone favorite character but I always thought he had so much potential. Joe is brilliant, I just thought he deserve more and so did Finn.

What fucking arsehole of a producer would break these three up permanently š”š”š”š”š”
Finn - dead man walking
So is he?
I believe so and itās just fucking me right off...Ā
There is no glory in aĀ ābigā death event... within a few days everyone acts as though nothing has happened and a lovely character with so much more potential is sacrified for a stunt driven media week.Ā
Are the Bartons - with the exception of Moira - being culled?Ā Theyāre obviously not MacLeodās favourites with Ross getting very little screentime either.
