Tonight's laundry beer: Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Ale.
Excited to find in-house brewed Cold Trail in can. The outsourced bottles are, um, not good.
I can't endorse Thirsty Dog Siberian Night enough. Buy on site. 4 out of 5 Huskies.
Coming my way as soon as my friend gets back from vacation.
Love all the shandies in Leinenkugel's Shandy Sampler, but here's my personal ranking.
Spotted Series #1 of Greenbrier Valley Brewing Co.'s Wild & Wonderful beers at the store today.
Water tip from a water pro, St. Patrick’s Day edition.
If you plan on participating in some St. Patrick’s Day shenanigans tonight, drink an 8oz serving of water for every alcoholic beverage you consume.
Your head will thank you tomorrow.
8.5%. Serviceable taste. <$10/6 pack. 👍👍👍
Sometimes, when it feels like Canada outside, you gotta embrace it, eh?
Valentine's Day beers: Last night I braved the mini-blizzard to drive to Leo's to get some vday libations. I had the New Belgium Cocoa Molé & my wife had Dogfish Head Tweason'ale. More detailed reviews later, but both are solid for what they are (a spicy chocolate stout & a decent option for people who can't consume gluten, respectively).
**New Beer Alert** Our Milk Stout is back on tap! It starts out as a traditional English stout infused with lactose sugar to create this creamy, complex brew! 4.7% abv
Yes.
Thanks to WV's outdated alcohol laws, many of the best craft breweries don't even bother to try to sell their beer in the state. Thankfully I'm just a short drive from Leo's Carry Out in South Point, OH. They've got a solid selection & you can buy beer starting 9am on Sunday, to boot.
Spotted Sierra Nevada Hoppy Lager in the wild yesterday. A bit piney for my liking, but hop heads will mark out for this.
Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company is tweeting some photos of their popular Mothman Black IPA's new cans. This is one of my very favorite WV-made beers and I'm excited to see that they 1) went with aluminum and 2) designed such an attractive package. Look out for it in a store near you.
If you're near Huntington, be sure to check out Leo's in South Point, OH. Huge selection of beers we can't get in WV & they've recently started taking plastic, too.
Harpoon Imperial Pumpkin Stout
The room filled with festive pumpkin aroma on pouring. Dark stout color. The first sip was a strong draw of molasses with a note of a complex pumpkin pie flavor. Sweet & rich with strong alcohol notes, but balanced w/ everything else. This, like their maple offering, would be a great ale to serve to a gathering of friends. Imagine a good wine, but a beer, in terms of booziness. Once again, a terrific high ABV offering from Harpoon. 4 out of 5 Yastrzemskis.
