#FBF Anchor Steam on tap at Maker Faire last weekend.
Dark Truth Stout Boulevard Brewing Company, Kansas City, Missouri 9.7% abv They say: "Roasted English malts provide a deep, rich texture, Belgian yeast bestows plum-like fruitiness, and German hops add spicy aromas as Dark Truth Stout mellows to a smooth, dry, smoky finish." It's the first time I've seen this brewery's stuff at the favorite local beer shop - they say its a pretty big deal. My thoughts on it: coffee and carmel aromas, light to medium body with a very smooth finish. A bit high on the abv, and you can taste that as it warms on the way down. Would probably only drink one in one sitting, and intriguing enough to repeat despite being out of my hoptastic comfort zone. -Jane
This one drinks like a cider. Enjoyable, crisp, but sweet for a beer.
Speakeasy Butchertown- nice artwork!
Merry Christmas! Speakeasy - Butchertown Black ale done in IPA style. Very tasty. TC enjoys slightly more than Jane does.
Nummy nums.
