Following people on instagram who study insects, go on nature walks, or really anything of that nature (pun intended), to desensitise myself so I am no longer afraid of what are probably the coolest things ever

I don't know how to articulate this well, but I find it so interesting wanting to make something out of a story I made years ago, because the main character is basically me when I was a girl but braver and in a different font. She has my old hair length and colour, shares a nationality, is home-schooled. I have to come back to that femininity and write a story about teenage girls, when lately I've just been chasing ideas about guys and trans people because that's what I can connect to and project onto most. It's like I'm writing a story I would have been OBSESSED with back then, when I loved mysteries (more specifically Murder Most Unladylike and later A Good Girl's Guide to Murder), when I felt more connected to the girl characters and girlhood in general. It's especially weird because it makes me feel closer to my past self, which I feel so immensely disconnected from most of the time, but here I am continuing what she left off, hoping to make it into a book or a graphic novel one day.

I think I need to change how I phrase my reminders, because I could look at a piece of paper that says "WASHING" and confidently think "Oh yeah, I'm doing the washing today, gotta keep that in mind" then completely forget that I'm meant to be emptying the dryer right about now
