The lyrics I used for my submission is Flowers by AnaĆÆs Mitchell from the musical Hadestown since I thought Eurydice's mindset would fit Caine's mindset post deletion (and considering I made this before episode 9, I was pretty correct lol).
Here's the traditional parts of the submission since I used both traditional and digital art for this piece.
Also thank you to my moots and my irl friends for looking at my drafts! I made three drafts and privately asked people which one they liked the most and the angsty one was the winner (though a lot of people really liked the Kokoro one as well).

The Showtime one uses the song Love Like You from Steven Universe by Rebecca Sugar and the angel one uses the song Kokoro by Toraboruta-P ft. Kagamine Rin.

9. Paddington the musical
Introduction: the original cast recording
I have a soft spot for the films and this musical captures so much of the magic those films had. Also the music surprised me in how good it was, felt like classic Disney at times.
Itās a classic for a reason. So many songs that inspired so much of musical theater moving forward and it really feels like the biggest musical Iāve ever seen music wise.
Also Ruthie Henshall is the best Fantine fight me.
7. Six the musical
Introduction: the original broadway cast through slime.
Btw I saw this one live a few months back and shoutout to the 2026 US tour because the merch was really well set up compared to other tours Iāve seen and the cast was amazing! Also yāall were so sweet at stage door.
But anyway all the songs slap, the costumes are amazing, and itās just a comfort listen to me.
6. Next to Normal
Introduction: The PBS proshot
JACK WOLFE AWOOGA I MEAN-
Yeah this musical is amazing. Such an excellent exploration of mental health and grief and how it affects not just you but the people around you. Also all the songs SLAP.
Also Eleanor Worthington Cox is so underrated as Natalie it makes me go insane.
5. Twisted
Introduction: the filmed version on Youtube
Legitimately the funniest show Iāve ever seen. Starkid knows how to make people laugh.
Also surprisingly a great commentary on progress and how so many things can stop it but we can keep going and pass it on to the next generation. Also a really smart parody of Disney.
Another comfort musical to me. Iāve probably watched it more than any other musical on this list cause it cheers me up instantly.
4. Wicked
Introduction: the first movie
Okay so I actually think Twisted is stronger from a writing, story, and comedy perspective BUT I prefer Wicked in almost every other department.
It has my favorite soundtrack of any musical ever with the only thing competing with it being my number 1 pick, the costumes and sets are so iconic and I love looking at them, and Iām way too attached to most of the characters in this show.
Wicked they can never make me hate you.
3. Hamilton

I donāt think I can say anything about this musical that hasnāt already been said. Itās just kinda perfect. Also was obsessed with this show back in 2020 and didnāt care for any other musical at the time.

2. Heathers the musical
Introduction: the 2014 off-broadway cast through slime
The show that got me obsessed with musical theatre.
I think the reason I still hold Heathers in such high regard is the vibes of this show are really unique, especially with the original run. Itās dark and gritty while still being colorful, it uses rock and synth in a way that I havenāt seen in any other musical, and the characters are all iconic.
I donāt think I could ever get sick of Heathers, especially the original version of it (sorry West-end and 2025 revival I donāt care about you that much lol).
1. Hadestown

Yeah you saw this coming.
The more I think about Hadestown the more I get obsessed with it. Itās my favorite musical ever and my second favorite work of art behind Ocarina of Time 3D (I have never played the original game lol).
Itās poetry come to life, itās tragedy and hope, itās love and grief, itās everything.
Honestly I both love and hate critiquing Epic the musical because on one hand, I still like it enough and wish Jorge all the luck in the world on his future projects.
At the same time though, itās like a 7/10 at the most and thereās way better musicals I could be talking about (which I do if youāve been here awhile).
Okay so Iām currently going through Genshin withdrawals and I donāt like it. (I REALLY wanna explore the moon).
The reason why is my phone almost exploded last week and deleting Genshin was the best short term solution (even though I know for a fact it wasnāt the problem).
So Iām going through my phone and deleting stuff so I can redownload the game. However itās taking forever so I donāt get to play it for a while.
Point is, if I start rapidly Genshin posting soon, you know why.
āAnd if youāll give me 40% of the MOST POPULAR VOTE, Iāll give you my SPECIAL REWARD... A yearās supply of NON-GLOOBY SLIME!!! Never or BARELY used!!!ā Tenna concluded his speech with a huge smile, jetting his hands up in double peace signs.
The crowd roared in confused enthusiasm as Tenna gave a gracious flurry of low-FPS bows, pausing only for the occasional stink-nose at his audience plants who werenāt throwing enough 3D roses.
Eventually, the room fell silent. It was Senshiās turn to speak.
He puffed out his chest, took a long, sweeping look over the audienceā¦ and shook his head.
āI can see not all of you are eating properly.ā
The crowd murmured with embarrassment.
āI donāt know who needs to hear this, but itās time to take the turkey out of your icebox. I have seen the ingenious technology with which your people store food... and I have also seen the waste which results from such convenience.
āThe food you take had a life. Beasts grew fat on the grass of the field, plants grew from the sunās rays, and mushrooms grew from minerals in the cracks of caves. And yet, it sits in your iceboxes, collecting moisture until it perishes.
āEat what is given to you. Because its life will make you stronger, too.ā
Without another word, Senshi left his podium and stepped away from the stage. The crowd murmured in confusion. āIs he really like that?ā somebody said. āI only remember reblogging the photosets of him tripping and showing ass.ā

Laios nodded aggressively, a streak of blue face paint peeling from his forehead.
āYou did AMAZING, Tenna! By the way, now that weāve seen all your insider campaign secrets, do you have any more videos of Susie? Especially her tail... If I could get a look at that, I could finally tell if sheās a dinosaur or --ā
THWACK. Fake antlers butted Laiosās head.
āLAIOS?? Werenāt we dressed up to help SENSHI???ā Marcille hissed, gesturing awkwardly with her hooves.
Suddenly, Tenna turned to the two adventurers.
āHey, WAIT a second. SOMETHINGās not right here...ā
Laios and Marcille held their breath.
āWhere the heck are my POINTS!?ā
Just then, the door opened. Chilchuck took one step into the room, whistling and holding a large bag.
Everyone turned to him.
Chilchuck paused, took a step backwards, and closed the door.
āCHILCHUCK!!!ā yelled Tenna.
āHow come Chilchuck got to stay Chilchuck!?ā yelled Marcille at the same time.

The inspiration for Lyra and Caine's relationship truly came from this musical. He's the one who has big dreams/ideas, desperate to prove his worth, and wants to make others [and his wife] happy and full of wonder. She's the one who supports unconditionally, is a dreamer like him and wants to see his fantasies come to life. [Lowkey want to do an AU with it and the TADC crew... And animatics... Maybe one day, a girl can dream LMAO]
