there's a very specific digital flow state that i love when i'm able to enter: just showered, just had dinner, it's still early in the night and i'm on my laptop on my bed, reading interesting stuff, looking at interesting pictures, liking and reblogging, separating and archiving, linking worlds to create a web of beautiful things.

despite everything, i still love the internet, always will.

the fact that this feeling is something even worth mentioning is because it's now so frequent to just lay in bed and scroll reels or tweets or whatever and have none of it actually do something in my brain. only mind fogging slop. internet was never meant to do that to us. we should all, collectively, stop doing that. but it truly is so, so hard. but i'm hopeful.

i made this post in like 2015, making fun of the kind of #90skids nostalgiabait you saw with the same phrase and characters from dexter’s lab hey arnold catdog etc, replaced with these meme characters that at the time were just fading in popularity a couple of years before. now more than 10 years later, with people reblogging this i feel the ironic detachment of the original post has rusted and collapsed, and what’s left is a bunch of people that really remember these guys…and their childhood was awesome!

Mariana  - John Everett Millais 

Mariana is a 1851 oil-on-wood painting by John Everett Millais. The image is based on the solitary Mariana of William Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure, written between 1601 and 1606. In the play, Mariana was to be married, but was rejected when her dowry was lost in a shipwreck. The painting is regarded as an example of Millais’ “precision, attention to detail, and stellar ability as a colorist”. [x]
