PERSISTENCE, A PERSPECTIVE
iâm sure you, as a lovey shifter or manifestorâespeciallyâhave heard that word.
thrown around so carelessly⌠tsk tsk!
âaffirm and persist,â
âpersist in your desires,â
âpersist in the end,â
âpersist, persist, persist.â
and i would bet many of you have an automatic assumption as to what persistence even is. what do YOU imagine it as? do you see someone listening to subliminals with militant precision? doing their method with âextra effortâ instead of rolling over and giving up, which, dare i assume, would be YOUR idea of failure? do you picture someone repeating affirmations so often that it feels engraved in their brain?
is that what persistence is to you?
the truth is, you need to persist in SOMETHING.
whether itâs for shifting or manifesting,
the reason you bristle at that sentence is because you think persistence means perfect consistency.
you have an automatic reaction to the word.
so you sob and rattle against invisible chains, and then you conclude, âi donât persist, therefore i fail.â and that story suffocates you.
persistence does not mean one format only.
persistence is not a rigid ritual.
it is not a religious duty to your method.
persistence is survival of an idea. persistence is continuation. persistence is staying in existence.
persist in something that suits you!
persist in a ridiculous tiny practice.
persist in inconsistency if you want to.
yes. persist in inconsistency as movement!
it is not a moral score, a scoreboard where you get to tally ârightâ and âwrong.â
it is not about perfection, or logging every ritual, or performing for the algorithm.
it is not about punishment. it is not about proving to strangers you are dedicated. it is not a cult of repetition.
if you think persistence is only long,
rigid lists of tasks you never want to do,
you have been taught wrong.
persistence is continuation.
persistence is the refusal to mean your life by temporary feeling states.
it is the internal habit of holding an idea in place long enough for the nervous system and reality to negotiate.
it is the small steady pressure you place on the world until the world yields.
you persist by being the kind of person who keeps a thing alive in their field of attention.
⢠inconsistency as movement; doing a micro-action randomly but repeatedly; the pattern is not daily, the pattern is âongoing.â
⢠a single thought as practice; thinking âi have thisâ as a memory rather than a wish.
⢠identity persistence; living with the assumption âi am the kind of person whoâŚâ until your behavior follows. this is stealth persistence, it changes the internal narrative before the external world realizes.
⢠resistance-friendly persistence; allowing rest to be persistence. sometimes your persistence is not the active ritual but the calm maintenance: âtoday i do nothing, tomorrow i choose again.â that counts.
EXAMPLES, BECAUSE YOU LOVE THEM !!
you can persist by doing one thing and one thing only: every few nights, you close your eyes and imagine the texture of one shoe in your DR. is that stupid? yes. is it persistence? also yes.
your nervous system now has a repeated sensory memory to latch into.
your brain has new priors.
you can persist by being inconsistent with the ritual itself.
some weeks you blast rampages for five hours.
some weeks you whisper one sentence and go to sleep.
you are still persisting because you are refusing to give up the identity:
i do this thing. I keep the channel open.
you can persist by deciding: âin my system, deciding once is persistence.â you say it firmly once and hold it as a fact.
others will call you lazy.
they have no idea how stubborn a single decision can be.
the subtlety: you are always persisting in something already (shocker)
think of⌠morning rhythm.
you persist in the idea you will wake up in your CR again tomorrow.
you persist in the identity you are âtired person who drinks coffee.â
persistence is happening constantly; you are always creating through repetition,
even if it is unconscious.
the trick is to point that same relentless repetition at your desire.
repetition is how brains encode habit.
when you hold an idea in mind repeatedly, synaptic connections get stronger.
the reticular activation system then starts filtering for what matches that idea. this is the practical mechanism behind âpersist and you will see evidence.â
you do not need to be perfect;
you need to be persistent in a way that moves your neurobiology.
PERSISTENCE = A CHOICE OF FOCUS
persistence is choosing what you keep alive in your field of attention.
that choice is 100% free. it is the sovereign act. you do not need to do rituals until your hands cramp. you do not need to chant like a possessed student.
you need to actively decide what you will feed your attention with over time.
you can be ridiculous and also effective.
choose a silly thing to persist in!!!!!!
do it until your imagination glows.
maybe you persist in pretending you have a private elevator in your DR.
maybe you persist in believing your mailbox is full of love letters.
hold the silly idea, my dear, these are low-resistance doors into a new assumption set.
yes you can persist in nothing.
decide that doing nothing is your chosen practice.
decide that you will remain stubbornly indifferent to proof checks.
decide that you defend your belief by refusing to check the mirror. this too is persistence. it undermines the continuity script that wants to keep you proof-hungry.
PERSISTANCE AS A RE-FRAMING AGAINST PERFECTIONISM
if your model of persistence grips your joy by the neck, you need to change the model.
perfectionism weaponizes methodology to keep you small.
choose tiny habits that feel safe. choose bizarre rituals you wonât hate.
choose âmicro-consistency.â choose the absurd. the point is to keep the idea alive.
PERSISTENCE IN RELATIONSHIPS AND PEOPLE
persistence is not only about internal practices. you persist in relationships by keeping assumptions steady.
you can persist in the identity âmy partner is caringâ by noticing evidence. you can persist in âi am loved.â
these disappear faster when you let doubt get a megaphone. choose to persist in the version that builds you up.
and this one is important: persistence is NOT punishment.
giving yourself rest is not failure. sometimes you persist by letting your nervous system recover. that recovery is an investment in future persistence.
you can be both tender and relentless in the long run.
do not allow culture to reframe persistence as a moral ladder.
your persistence is personal.
it is your daily tacit agreement with an alternative reality. do not compare your quiet version to someone elseâs loud version.
that comparison will kill your practice.
HOW TO THINK ABOUT PERSISTENCE TONIGHT
donât make it complicated.
keep one sentence in your head: âi will persist in something.â
choose whatever feels mildly acceptable. maybe itâs inconsistency. maybe itâs imagining a single tactile detail. maybe it is deciding that today, doing nothing equal persistence.
hold that in your chest and let the field adjust.
the world will adapt to the frequency you maintain.
closing ranty rant: you are stubborn by default
your biology insists on continuity. choose which continuity you want. you donât have to be a ritual machine. you just have to keep an idea alive long enough for your brain to believe it
and for the world to mirror it back.
so, persist! (and for the love of god, do it your way) persist in absurdity, in softness, in inconsistency, in rest, in one sacred microthought. persist in the thing that does not shame you. persist in the beautiful, stubborn arrogance of believing you create your rules.
this is what persistence looks like when itâs not a punishment.
this is what it looks like when it is alive.
this is the permission to be human while being relentless.
go be delightfully sloppy and gloriously unbothered while you do it. persist!
