The crowd moved around him, loud and messy- but Hua Cheng only saw him.

The night market was loud and bright, lanterns swaying above as people rushed past. Xie Lian was smiling politely at a vendor who kept... staring at him a little too long.

Before Xie Lian could answer, a cool shadow slipped behind him.

A hand-gloved and unmistakably firm-rested on his shoulder.

His voice was calm, bue smile didn't reach his eyes.

The vendor blinked, laughed nervously, and backed off.

He finally met Xie Lian's eyes-warm, intense, a little possessive.

Xie Lian's heart fluttered. He took Hua Cheng's hand gently.

Hua Cheng squeezed his fingers, letting out a soft breath.
