I should talk about my story I have about a woman in her early twenties and the girl she adopted bc the girl stowed away into this nowhere town and accidentally got left there and now that’s her daughter/little sister/student. It also has a weather based magic system and the woman is a professional witch.

"Pretty Pretty Please I Don't Want to be a Magical Girl" is a series that follows Aika, a reluctant magical girl, her new friend, Zira and magical mascot, Hoshi. These days, all Aika wants is to be a normal girl but with her "nemesis" Eclipse and the all powerful Lady DeVoid causing trouble, that dream seems to be unlikely.

I really like how on most fan arts of adult qiflings they look a bit like Qifley or Olrugio. Which is totally understandable for me when we are talking about Richeh or Tetia, but with Coco and Agott we know how their moms look, but they still look kinda like their teachers
And now that we are on topic, I've noticed most designs look kinda similar. Are there maybe some official art of adult girls that I'm missing on or is it just a funny coincidence?
We have very few instances of possible adult Coco designs in official work, both drawings I’ve seen are uncolored, but have long straight hair and a piece of clothing similar to Qifery (cloak and glasses). A lot of the fans designs are very similar, and most take inspiration from the little official art we do have. I’ve found that despite this a lot of them don’t actually take into account one of the few pieces of information we have about an adult Coco, my favorite detail personally. Which is the authors note on some sketches of coco that say something along the lines of “her hair would get darker with age.” Most adult Coco designs I’ve seen keep her light green-yellow hair we see in her current design.

Bea <3<3<3<3 I hate drawing shoes and rendering but I’ve redesigned her so much and this is the first design that I’ve liked enough to make it to digital.
She’s a bee (I’m sorry I’m horrible at names) themed magical girl from my co-authored story Soda Pop Magic. Shes part of the Bug themed magical girl team :D the other members of her team are Odette, who’s a butterfly magical girl, Vince, who’s a moth magical boy, and an unnamed Spider themed magical girl.

Bea was one of the first 4 or 5 characters conceptualized for Soda Pop Magic a few years ago. Some things have changed and some things have stayed the same. She’s always been a playful and energetic kind of character, but traits that came later were her determination and hard working nature. She was also conceptualized to be Deaf and communicate through asl as a nod to the way bees communicate through dance. This also comes into play in shaping her personality, her disability pushes her to work on her own often and thus work very hard as well.
Other fun facts: Bea is studying architecture at college and drives a VW beetle.
Clearly I leaned heavily into the bee imagery for her character. There’s a nonzero chance any of this could change in the future, lol.
Sorry if these are, like, abundantly obvious to other people. But, some small details about You (the Netflix show) that I haven’t yet seen people point out after a rudimentary search through the tags, is how Joe (the main character) will bring up books to the audience, and what his choice of book and how he chooses to describe them says about HIM.
I noticed this way back in season 1, in the first episode, he brings up the book Don Quixote. He describes it as “a guy deciding to become a knight out of chivalry” or something along those lines, it’s been a while. Its interesting that he chooses to describe the book that way, because it completely leaves out that the main character does this in the midst of complete delusion. He doesn’t “decide” to be a knight, he genuinely believes he IS a real knight. And a lot of the rest of the book is about the problems his delusions cause for those around him.
This immediately reflects how Joe thinks and behaves throughout the series. He believes himself to be a knight, protecting these women he fixates on. But his actions overwhelmingly harm and cause problems for the women he ensnares, and everyone around them. And most of all, he can never even conceptualize that he might be the problem.
The next example I can think of is in season 2, where he says the line, “he can’t resist her Lolita act any more than I could.” Which is a line that made me recoil into my skin. This line carries a similar meaning that the first line did, but in an even more direct and sinister way. Lolita, the book in reference here, is about a man named Humbert predating on a young girl. The book is told through the perspective of this predator who is obsessed a young girl named Dolores. He depicts her as knowingly seductive, when in reality she is a victim to grooming, abduction, and abuse. This is a direct reflection of Joe’s own narration, which highlights how unreliable of a narrator he is. His placement of roles and interpretation of the book here reflects Humberts own, and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the novel that reflects his own warped view of reality.
There are almost definitely more instances of lines like this in the show that i either missed, forgot about, or haven’t encountered yet. But these were the ones i could explain clearest.
Anyway, I’m only on season 2.
