I vividly remember talking to one of my favorite professors about how I’m scared things will fall apart after graduation and how I’m so unused to change and her just going “if things fall apart then they do and u just pick up the pieces and start over again and it’s fine. Things falling apart is not this mammoth fear u should be worried about” and I remember these words every time I want to pursue or seize something bc literally the worst thing that can happen is it doesn’t work out ….. and then I just pick up the pieces and start all over again

The inconvenient thing about life is that half of it is all about listening to your body and letting yourself rest, and the other half is accepting that life will be uncomfortable and inconvenient sometimes and you've just go to make yourself push through your brain going Do Not Want and get the discomfort out of the way, and you never know which one it is.

1500 notes for nonsense like this, honestly drives me nuts. Unknown? Did “Unknown” also memorably say “Have a glass of water” or “A lot of people have pain” ? Often, the reason we quote things is because someone supposedly puts something in a way that your average person would not have thought of, thus lending clarity to complex emotions and providing some enlightenment.

I feel like no one is even trying here. And, by the way, many will not survive and everything does not happen for a reason and if you think this is deep, certainly do not trust yourself.

Platitudes are bad enough in actual context but pulled as quotes they are positively infuriating. It’s the blogger poetic equivalent of “You’re only holding yourself back” and “These are 10 steps to success.” The purpose is to make things so obvious, formless and intellectually wispy that none of us can disagree because it doesn’t mean a god damn thing. It’s the literary fortune teller at the boardwalk telling you you’ll meet a tall dark man you will one day marry.

Buy any decent book and open to a random page and you’ll find something better than this.
