What the fuck is Kotlc, what does it stand for?

Tis a most wonderful book series, kotlc being an acronym for 'keeper of the lost cities ', written by one Shannon Messenger, who shows sadistic pleasure in torturing her readers with cliffhangers.

The series follows Sophie Foster, a young girl who discovers that she is, in fact, an elf as she is forced to separate from her human surrogate family and adopted by Elven australians Grady and Edaline Ruewen, who are mourning the loss of their only daughter.

As the series progresses, Sophie befriends a colourful cast of characters, including but not limited to artistic genius and Empath Keefe Sencen, child prodigy and fellow Telepath Fitz Vacker, Technopath alchemist and her adoptive cousin, Dex Dizznee, the aforementioned Fitz's fashionable younger sister, Vanisher Biana Vacker, and the local gossip, Marella Redek.

As Sophie grows older, she learns more about the Black Swan, the secret group that created her, and gets roped into their conflict with rival terrorist group the Neverseen, uncovering a seemingly infinite rabbit hole of secrets, plots, and betrayals, all while surviving attempts on her life and on her friends' lives, and struggling to deal with her blossoming teenage romances and being forced to be a leader. She is very stressed.
