y’all remember when i made all those posts last year about what i thought would have happened if charlie had raised bella in forks and i got really carried away and emotional ??
well buckle up bitches bc here we go again
so when bella gets to school age charlie obviously encourages her to do well and is thrilled with the grades she gets
but bella starts to put a bit too much pressure on herself and gets all stressed out over her math homework
so every night when he comes home from a long-ass shift charlie sits at the kitchen table with his daughter and helps her slog through all of the problems
even when his eyes sting from tiredness and bella yells at him because she’s frustrated he stays quiet and patient
they never go to bed until she’s finished her homework sheet and understands how she got every answer
he also makes sure that she knows how important taking breaks are
he will very occasionally break her out of school so that they can spend the afternoon together and they go hiking or he takes her to the library to pick out some new books
he loves these moments together when it’s just the two of them and they can tell each other all of their secrets like they’ve always done
as much as he loves bella as his daughter and he tries to treat her like a daughter, she’s also his best friend and he can’t believe how lucky he is to have her
most weekends they go into la push to spend the day with billy and his kids
bella and jake collect shells on the sand and teach themselves to skip stones while jake’s sisters painstakingly try to sunbathe despite the weak light hidden by the clouds
bella gets charlie involved and they make seashell necklaces and bracelets, which bella gifts to renee whenever she visits
charlie usually has to carry bella back to the car because she’s too tired from running up and down the sand all day
he tucks her into bed when they get home, not even bothering to clean off her sandy feet or to wash her salt-coated hair
the days of bella’s childhood in forks are slow and blissful
she’s the only kid in town that dreads the arrival of summer
although she loves her mom and looks forward to her bi-annual visits to forks and her telephone calls every few days, summer signals bella’s annual three-week trip to visit renee in arizona
she tries to stay brave and pretends to be excited, but charlie can see through the facade and knows how much bella would rather stay in forks
when he puts her on the plane, she clings to him for a longer hug than necessary and makes him promise to call her every day
he tells her that she knows he can’t do that but instead promises to call every three days so that renee doesn’t get jealous
every summer bella ends up enjoying her time in phoenix, but is still relieved to come home to her dad at the end of the trip
back to their easy routine and their little bubble of love and laughter
