It has been a great ride so far, and I wish Benedict many many more wonderful years. Happy Birthday and thank you for being you. Our world is better for it and this fan is grateful and I look forward for what’s to come. ❤️
And in honour of his Birthday I used the flowers of July as a background for all the reasons I admire and appreciate him. He inspires, entertains & educates through his work, his passions and his joie du vivre. ❤️
I did a rewatch of Eric and honestly this scene got stuck with me, so I had to do an illustration of said moment. I am incredibly happy with how this turned out, and always loving an excuse to draw monsters. I should do it way more in the future. Hope you like it!

Day 6: James
Dear James came around at a time when I was watching a close friend deal with Cancer. It truly helped put things in perspective. This is a “dude flick” but I love it. Men dealing with emotions. Win.

Sweet, doomed James has a special place in my heart. The ending of this movie guts me every time--so much so that there are times I don't watch the last 10-15 minutes. It just hurts too much.
Rest in peace Sam Neill. Thank you for the awe and wonder you brought to us.
Day 17: Vincent Anderson
Barely holding on when his son goes missing, upon finding ERIC a character his son created, Vincent uses ERIC as a way to bring him home. All the while, Vincent’s psyche uses ‘ERIC’ as an enabler, protector, shadow self and friend while he navigates his own journey.
Day 16: Theo Rose
I adore Theo. And yes - damn 🥵. But the story is proper funny and while craziness ensues behind it all is real heart and truth.
Day 15: Stephen Hawking
Portraying the pivotal time in Stephen’s life when he is diagnosed with Motor Neuron Disease and also finds his point of study for his PhD.
Day 14: Smaug
Not on camera in the traditional way but Benedict’s performance of Smaug was imo the best part of this trilogy, which has a place in pop culture for the bts video. The end result was a powerful beast thanks to his work and the team at WETA.

It’s kind of odd for me to mention Sherlock as a favourite character because Benedict melted into him so seamlessly that my imagination sees Sherlock as his own man. Separate from actor. An advantage received from spending 4 seasons with him. I know Benedict’s Sherlock is a complicated man but whenever I’ve felt like a square peg in a round hole I’ve found comfort in who this character is. ❤️
Day 12: Richard III
“His arc is hugely brilliant. In Richard III he gives a speech about how he’s going to go and kill the king, Henry, and how this ties into his feelings about himself as a disabled man. I think that humanises him. As an actor you have to flesh out your character. You can’t pantomime with the daggers and the looks, because that gets really dull. There’s such humour in other moments where Richard relishes his plans. He’s an antihero because he lures us in. He’s very funny, hopefully. Audiences don't necessarily side with him but they revel in his villainy! I also don't want to burden Freudian analysis onto him and make him more understandable. I don’t want to say, ‘Oh, he’s just a victim of this cruel world. Oh, what other choice did he have?’ Of course he had choices. He very clearly makes the wrong ones and suffers the ultimate downfall for that.” - Benedict Cumberbatch via BBC.

A powerful and nuanced portrait of a man being denied his happiness while his brother finds his. Phil lashes out and manipulates in an attempt to regain control over his environment. Only to suddenly find something more hopeful along the way. 💔
