Jennifer Coolidge Reads Thirst Tweets
Save me from this meme hell
Imagine being a bear. No bills. You can scratch your back on a tree whenever you want. Seasonal weight gain is necessary. No judgement for sleeping 3 months at a time. It would be beary great.
that boy you just called a krusty krab? his name is patrick
There are very few places twee enough that a shop could get away with this name. Apparently my new neighbourhood is one of them.
My Reading-Disordered Ass:
fun fact!
this is in my home town and they used to have a lovely metal sign with individual letters - eventually they had to change it to paint
apparently, the “o” and the “n” kept going missing
my only surprise is the owners didn’t predict this
why did my mom end this text with a wink
she’s the prowler
My ideal date? You release me into the wild to hunt me for sport on your remote island BUT I’m not very good at hiding so you find me within 20 minutes. You hold the gun to my face but there is something so earnest in my eyes and hands that you cannot carry through. You pick me up and carry me back to your mansion. I am so polite and charming that you nurse me back to health. You grow to love and trust me despite the fact you’re holding me hostage after I fell of a charter vessel bound for Brazil. You buy me new clothes and have them shipped to the island. I kiss you good morning every day. You propose marriage. I accept. We skype in a priest and get married with the butler as our witness. That night I kill you and the butler. I redistribute your wealth. I live in the mansion on the abandoned island for the rest of my days. I study snail ecology. I never remarry. You were the love of my life but you were too dangerous and evil to live. I am buried next to you. The tides eventually wash our bodies away. Into the depths of the ocean, together.
the most dangerous game passed into the public domain this year so I will be producing this movie
I can’t stop thinking about this….
I don't think anything will ever validate me more then watching a group of literal brain and heart surgeons confidently walk into the conference room, only to have their leader sadly shuffle out to my office 15 minutes later and ask me to come help them with the projector.
Having a 52 year old heart surgeon say "you're not gonna be able to fix it Kait is the only one who can do it" is the modern day equivalent of being fed grapes on a fainting chair
Athena blessed her with the ability to protect herself and men beheaded her for it.
That’s actually a really intetesting intpretation of it I hadn’t thought of. Most people seem to think Athena turned Medusa into a gorgon as punishment for defiling her temple, but thinking that she did so to protect her from being abused again is interesting and I like it!
Athena’s hands were tied. Yes, she was a powerful Goddess, but she was very much a woman in a “boys club”, and the true offending party (don’t think for a moment that Athena blamed Medusa for being raped in the temple, Athena knows better) held all the cards. There was nothing that Athena could do to punish the true criminal, and she was expected to punish Medusa by everyone else. What’s a Goddess to do when she cannot punish those who need to be punished and is expected to punish not only the truly innocent party, but her most beloved follower? Use that incredible brain power she had to protect Medusa at all costs, and of course the men would see it as punishment, to be have her beauty stripped from her and sent to live in the shadows. Medusa should have been KILLED for supposedly defiling the temple, whether she truly did or not, but she was given the gift of life, and the ability to protect herself and her daughters (who she bore thanks to Poseidon). This is why Medusa’s image was used to signify woman’s shelters and safe houses.
Medusa means “guardian; protectress”, and she was.
holy shit.
Feministic mythology is what I’m here for
We forgot about it
I once signed up to participate in a study on how depression affects memory, forgot I was meant to go do it, and when I emailed to apologise to the PhD student running it she basically told me that a) she was very used to this happening and b) the weird irony of her theories’ correctness making it very difficult to arrange proving them had by now gone from infuriating to hysterical
I went to the Grand Canyon when I was depressed and I literally forgot the whole thing. Like, the only reason I even know I was there is that I have photographs of myself standing in front of the Grand Canyon with dead eyes but i have absolutely no memory of it
People talk about depression like it’s just being sad all the time but straight up your brain stops working and sadness is just one of the many, many consequences of that
I wanna be that CEO that pays their employees 70K a year like that white guy I be seeing all over the Internet. I can’t remember his name.
I’m not gonna be like Jeff Bezos but I do wanna be a multimillionaire 😂😂😂
He took a pay cut. I’m not doing all of that. Ima just pay my people well and give top notch benefits.
It gets better.
We are definitely going to talk about this guy on Buisness Desserts
Employees are not costs to be reduced, they are investments, they are assets that appreciate in value
Absolutely
For the person commenting on not taking a pay cut, he HAD to change his lifestyle to be able to afford to pay his employees a living wage. He talked to accountants and they helped him break the numbers down based on data about the cost of living and various factors about the commute, housing issues, etc. All inspired by his best friend going nearly into debt over medical costs meanwhile he had several houses, a jet, and drank champagne daily.
He sold stock, houses, and changed his spending and as a result, his employees were overall happier and the way they worked improved. They all bought more shit and had more kids and did all the consumption people want for us while also enjoying their work and their boss enough to band together and buy him a fucking Tesla as a thank you.
And you know what he realized after taking his pay cut? He didn’t need the champagne or the girls or the “lifestyle” of being a billionaire. He feels fulfilled in his work and with the people he’s surrounded himself with and he feels that he’s made a step in the right direction that other businessmen and billionaires should follow.
Please read the article and his statements on twitter because it’s eye-opening to see that you CAN be successful doing things ethically.
tbh i don't UNDERSTAND the mentality of wanting to be a MULTI-millionaire, what do you even do with ALL that????
Don’t worry about it.
Be more concerned with billionaires. Multi millionaires ain’t really the problem tbh
