DESCENDANTS REWRITE 💜

i love descendants, was super excited when it first came out and loved ever since (fun fact: i first thought it was going to be a series) and now i wanted to recreate the characters and the story

i wanted to make my own version of the story, now set in a fantasy world where the disney stories take place and 'medieval' and 'modern' kingdoms and cities coexist just normal (its like dont think too much so it wont lose sense), but now the isle of the lost is in another dimension, where only exists that land and infinite sea and very litttle magic (i can talk about the origin story of the isle later, because is very interesting)

i started with the main 4 vks and wanted to create something original, closer to their animated parents, but still their own charecters, their appearance and personalities are quite different, but i think they're just as great and fun (and i added a feel fun facts about them 😄)

hope you enjoyed them, im planning on doing more characters soon (the auradon kids) 💙💛

best part of reimagining an EAH G2: get to create lore and rewrite the characters stories, adding depth and everything

worst part of reimagining an EAH G2: being afraid of touching the characters designs because their just soo perfect and i want to make something good enough

almost forgot to post this one but here are the outfits i designed for jane, lonnie and doug for this rewrite

once again, theres no coronation on my rewrite (let my boy be a teen before becoming king 😭) so the climax of the film takes place during family day so i dresses them according to the occasion

anyway for more info about the though process, i wrote everything in the pictures so yeah hope yall like them!! for now i believe theres only 1 additional part so i can finish the first descendants arc and ill actually start making the story (deciding how i should post the story)

Things i wish they committed to in ever after high

1. Giving characters with animal parents animalistic features at the very least give them all animal ears like cerise

2. Invest in holly and poppy plot wise to justify the way the marketing kept shoving in everyones face like they where important

3. Explore more of the fairytale world we only got ever after wonderland and what ever crystal's kingdom was called

4. Speaking of crystal make her beasd on the snow queen like the Hans Christian Anderson version she really felt like they were basing her off of Disney's frozen like can you imagine if the special was about how a character with a villain destiny was navigating life now that she doesn't have a path written for her since she was already someone who had everything done for them

im finally starting my EAH era + continuing my winx redesigns cause my boys deserve good fashion!! i just need to make the fashion part, i just did their bodies.. 🙃

im so excited to share this new era with yall!!! ill not post my EAH redesigns until their all perfect (prob will be posting only apple, raven, briar and maddie for now)

im also wondering if i should post a "prolougue" for eah because i created a bit of lore so it would be interesting to share the characters profile + the lore

as for the specialists, im doing my boys justice and give them their beauty and fashion back (since the reboot took that from us)

its time to meet the parents of the latest adition to the cast (lonnie, jane and doug) so here we have mulan and shang, fairy godmother and dopey!!!

so lets dive into their story and how they fit in my rewrite:

LI SHANG AND MULAN:

after saving all china and getting married, the emperor decided to give mulan the title of "daughter of the emperor";

mulan and shang often teach little girls (and boys) how to fight like a warrior, they all have fun;

because of her title, mulan and her family are invited to many royal events and they got to meet other kings and queens, even befriending some of them;

shang is very much a girls dad;

hes also canonically (at least in this rewrite) a bissexual icon.

FAIRY GODMOTHER:

runs auradon prep longside merlin (at least when hes not in magical trips);

she used to be a teacher in merlin academy before merlin invite her to be co-principal so they changed the school to auradon prep;

sometimes clumsy with her magic, but always willing to help others;

sees cinderella as her older daughter and chad and chloe as her grandkids;

she found baby jane in the middle of the forest and decided to stay with her until her parents would appear, but since no one showed up after 2 whole days, she decided to adopt jane;

she has wings, but doesnt use them very often.

DOPEY:

still living with the other dwarfs (and now their kids) in the cottage;

they have expanded the cottage to fit everyone in it;

one of the few dwarfs to get married (but is unfortunately a widower, his wife died when doug was still a baby);

still very dopey and silly, but has matured (enough to be a father);

has never learned how to talk, but has his ways to communicate with his family.

i have only 2 or 3 more posts about my rewrite so i can finish everything theres to know about it, so should i just show a glimpse (and maybe idea) of how the sea 3 or should i start the story already? cause yes, im planning on actually showing the story

Your Carlos redesign really intrigues me! As a Newsies fan, I love his hat lol 😝 Did you know Kenny Ortega directed both Newsies and Descendants?

YESS!! I KNEW THAT!!

i dont consider myself a newsies fan but as a theater kid i knew i had to make carlos look like he could be a part of it 😅 and only after i finished his design i remembered kenny also directed the 1992 film (i think my subconscious made this on purpose)

when i first looked for inspo for carlos design i started picturing what my take would look like and the idea of a british paperboy came to mind (i mean it fits the 101 dalmatians time period and location) and then newsies came to my mind!! it was so perfect!!

i even used 1 or 2 pictures of the musical (movie and play) as reference in my pinterest folder for the characters i really wanted that newsies appearance

and his hat was a MUST!! its my fav part of his outfit! but it was so hard to get that hat right (which i didnt at the time, but now i re-did it and looks so much better) and it gives his look that finishing touch and he looks adorable with it!

DESCENDANTS REWRITE (9/?)

THEIR FINALLY DONE!! JANE, LONNIE AND DOUG!!!

i loved (re)designing these guys they look very cute!! they were so much fun to draw and create their stories!

they now have more depth (and lonnie has now a bigger role on the story, ive always felt like she was very out of place, like everyone was linked to the vks and the main plot somehow expect for lonnie, so i decided to change that, she now takes part in carlos plot)

soon ill be posting more about their outfits (+ new and cute descendants art + their parents and im sorry for dopey, i did the best i could 😭)

anyway, for now im taking a lil break from descendants but ill soon be back with more characters to complete this cast (ive actually mentioned them in some panels from preview parts) so yeah, thats it for now! hope yall like them! ❤️
