My latest baking creation, Chocolate and Caramel Ombre Birthday Cake!
I have been a bit quiet these last couple of months trying to get finished this piece of work, and now finally ‘The Paper Museum Vol. 1’ is finished. I have created portable museum with 3 accordion books representing the exhibition and a curators notebook. The work explores the containment of objects within the museum context using the subject of ‘Death: Omens and Rituals’. The work uses hand lettering and lino cut printing.
The Paper Museum is complete! 3 accordion books with 22 prints. This is it at the exhibition 'Interplay' in Cambridge, Changing spaces.
I've not blogged in a little while, as I am busy making the final adjustments to 'The Paper Museum' volume 1! But a belated Merry Christmas with some home baked Lebkuchen.
Some objects and items that will be moving in to the 'Paper Museum' with the birds. All of these items are used in rituals around the time of a person's death. Reminds me how much I love working in black and white, it is so effective!
Some more inhabitants for the 'Paper Museum'. I really like the silhouette shape of the Swallow in the first stage of printing, I think I will have to come back and do more work with this at a later stage.
Some of the occupants of the 'Paper Museum' I am currently working on. Focusing on superstitious omens and rituals surrounding death.
Another crochet blanket complete, and keeping my Grandad warm and cosy!
Homemade bread! So satisfying to bake and eat, yummy!
Beetroot chocolate brownies ,and a cup of tea in my new Sophie Conran teacup. Delicious!
Still working on my lino cut barn owl, but I am quite pleased with the drawing I am working from.
Llwyau caru Cymreig
Welsh Love Spoon lino cut, just another thing I have been playing with while thinking around the ideas of creating collections.
Some Lino cuts I have been working on this week, using the patterns found in traditional welsh blankets.
Breakfast muffins! A lovely smell of cinnamon around the house as they were baking, yummy!
Custard kisses! Sweet biscuits filled with custard cream icing, lots of fun to bake!
Falconry experience at S&D Falconry, Wooten Park. Seeing the barn owl this close will help with my new owl drawings and lino prints i am currently working on!
Playing with layering colours and the lino hand collection cuts.
