“We Wear Culture” is a collaboration between Google and more than 180 museums, schools, fashion institutions, and other organizations from all parts of the globe. It’s part of Google’s Arts & Culture platform, which is digitizing the world’s cultural treasures, and functions as a searchable guide to a collective archive of some 30,000 fashion pieces that puts “three millennia of fashion at your fingertips,” Google says.

But it isn’t just a database. Google has worked with curators to create more than 450 exhibits on different topics—say, how the cheongsam changed the way Chinese women dress—making the site an endlessly entertaining, educational portal filled with stunning imagery touching on everything from modern Japanese streetwear to the clothes worn at the court of Versailles.

i can already tell this has made writing for historical fandoms – the worst part of which, for me, is absofuckinglutely hands-down the clothing – much easier.

We need to stop acting like placing one good person on a pedestal is enough to stop villains and all things bad. Yes, I'm looking at you, Naruto and All Might. Not only is it stupid but it is also a dubious short term 'solution'. Betting the continued prosperity of society on the lifespan of the hero is not a good idea. Pretty sure one of the villains of BNHA pointed this out. We were shown how fragile peace was when All Might retired. Idolising people in power is not a good idea either (it bothers me how often this happens irl).

Yeah, a few days back, the whole Tumblr messaging chat panel disappeared on my side. So, I don't know what exactly happened with it. Even the search option broke down. I mailed to Tumblr Help. Do they even reply? 😔😔

Edit: Oh man, I can't even use the comment option on posts, and the notification option is not working. And whenever I am liking or reblogging any post, it is not showing in the notes.

The US has been expanding its military presence in Africa at a breakneck pace over the last 10-15 years and it’s shocking how little attention it’s gotten. I mean US press doesn’t cover much US military activity and they certainly never cover Africa, so it’s not too surprising, but comparing the scale of the trend to the scale of the reporting is breathtaking. You’ll hear plenty about China’s Belt and Road initiative engaging in some seedy financing plans in African nations, and virtually nothing about the US being the largest and most active operator of drones on the entire continent
