It’s crazy to think that this little account has amassed 4k followers in a few years. When I decided to start it I was a tiny college freshman traveling across the country that needed some semblance of community and comfort as I entered into a new chapter of my life. I couldn’t have imagined the love and support my posts about THE antoni would recieve, but here I am, and here you are. This has always been a safe space for me, which is why I am coming here to ask for help.

I hate admitting I can’t do things on my own, but I’ve listed my venmo below because I realize that I can’t make ends meat this month without outside help. My dad who told me he would support me financially went back on his word after an an argument and with covid-19 I got laid off from my job. Now I have no means of supporting myself(paying rent, buying groceries and gas) and paying college tuition. I know times are incredibly tough for everyone, but just sharing this post or sending anything you could spare would help a queer, black, non-binary person in need tremendously. It has truly been a pleasure sharing and creating content that brings you guys even a semblance of joy. I hope that you and your loved ones are both safe and healthy. <3 - A

okay like i know i’m hating on the hunting culture of this episode and all but there’s a reason why i watch queer eye and that reason is perfectly embodied by this scene now where antoni’s trying to help her reframe how she sees fancy restaurants because as a poor autistic kid who grew up in a small town…ihop was the first sit-down restaurant i ever went to.

and i was eighteen and so confused by how everyone else knew exactly how to behave and i grew up with a very limited range of foods i ate so even now in my thirties i’m still trying to learn how to try new foods without feeling like the world will end and i still don’t feel like i belong at a table with silverware and listen poverty just really fucks you up especially if you’re different in other ways.

i love the show because the guys are fun and silly and loving and adorable but the show is important because there are a lot of us out here who need the kind of cheerleading and support and education and growth they’re trying to provide and we can’t all afford professional help and we don’t all have families who raised us with the tools to figure it out on our own but this helps. it offers hope.
