u have any lineart coloring tips? like where to use darker shades and how much darker or more saturated u make the line color from the adjacent base color, so it's not too heavy but it's not too light either? i cant explain it but you did it in your stan and mabel drawing and im terrible at picking colors
yeah! my tips:
use multiply
use overlay
use both multiply and overlay
ctrl+u (hue & saturation adjustment) every time!
personally i find it hard choosing lineart colors from scratch (when the layer is normal and opaque). using multiply/overlay incorporates the colors below for me, so making the lineart almost any color & setting it to multiply gives a decent result. then with ctrl+u i can finetune to find what looks best for my colors!
i have the stan & mabel one as an example below, but most of the light/dark balance & the saturation in the lineart just comes from setting it to multiply or overlay
