A great read!!!!
It’s weird how in animals seeing ribs/collar&hip bones is considered sick or even abusive, but in people that’s considered beautiful.
This may have just changed my life.

This makes me sick to my stomach.
I will always reblog this.
RULES FOR MEN IN FEMINIST MOVEMENTS
Shut up and listen
Ask me, don’t tell me
Prepare to be wrong
Call fellow men out on problematic behaviour
Never dismiss the lived experiences of women
Do not attempt to take a leadership role
I agree with most of this. Particularly the ‘ask me, don’t tell me’ part. How many men in my life have tried to tell me how I feel about an issue
This is great!
I thought feminists were suppose be inclusive?
My daily feminist rant haha... I've been feeling pretty had these past couple of days. It's my second official day back from Spring Break, and yet, I have tons of homework in addition to a bunch of drama to deal with. Why don't women want men in feminism? Why don't they (girls from my school) want me in this work? I was introduced to feminism my sophomore year, and I've come a long way. Nevertheless, I always still have that option of completely giving up and disengaging from feminist action. It's interesting to see just how alone and difficult feminist praxis really is...
I'm here for the right reasons. Why can't you see that? Why won't more men identify with feminism? Everyone here at my college seriously is wrapped up in their own lives. Broaden your horizons.
ALL MEN SHOULD BE FUCKING FEMINISTS. THAT IS ALL.
Mad respect for this woman.
"Cradled in one culture, sandwiched between two cultures, straddling all three cultures and their value systems, la mestiza undergoes a struggle of flesh, a struggle of borders, an inner war. Like all people, we perceive the version of reality that our culture communicated. LIke others having or living more than one culture, we get multiple, often opposing messages. The coming together of two self-consistent but habitually incompatible frames of reference causes un choque, a cultural collision."

To all my followers...
Thank you very much for checking out my blog! By following, you'll most definitely be getting my perspectives, thoughts, and ideas on feminism. I am a cisgender Latino man. I am completely aware that I am not a woman and that I'll never truly understand the struggles that come with being born into a marginalized gender category. However, I am doing what I love by speaking out. For too long, I sat in the classroom, actively listening, writing papers, reading feminist literature, talk with other people. Now, I want to get my ideas out there. I want to share my opinions with you all about men in the feminism movement, in addition to my stories as a man in the work.
I am not going to lie. Living with a feminist consciousness is most definitely a daily struggle. I have my ups and downs, but I always stay true to who I am and what I think is right. I'm a little tied up with schoolwork today specifically, but in the coming days I will be putting up some great links and resources for men in feminism. Look for that!
As I've said before, I'm a cisgender Latino male. I'm a junior (Women's and Gender Studies/Sociology double major). I care, and I actually give a fuck about the oppression and inequality in this world. I am completely aware that not everyone will agree with me. Honestly, that's the nature of blogging and feminism. However, I do invite you all to engage with me and start discussions around the roles of men in feminism. Also, how the hell do we get more men involved in helping women in the feminist movement. Seriously, I invite your opinions, critiques, etc. Thanks for following! I hope you enjoy my work!
How hard is it to be a female human being in the media? Anne Hathaway is a pretty good measure. She learned everything she could about sex trafficking and prostitution to play Fantine, and knew only too well that modern-day Fantines were probably living within blocks of the Academy Awards. As she said in her acceptance speech, ‘Here’s hoping that someday in the not too distant future the misfortunes of Fantine will only be found in stories and never in real life.’ Did that get coverage? No. Instead, the huge and expensive media beast speculated on her nipples. In a way, that makes Anne’s point. No wonder there are still Fantines, so many in the media think like pimps, traffickers and johns.
