Hi to new followers! Thought I’d post a little “about me” in honor of the recent influx:

She/her, queer, WoT fan for over 20 years, psych prof irl (but that doesn’t stop me from being a clown online)

I’m pretty chill about fandom stuff, but if you are an active Tylin apologist on my posts you will get blocked

I both adore WoT and think it has serious flaws (particularly RJ’s ham-fisted attempt at flipped gender politics), so you’ll see occasional rants here, but mostly you’ll see just a shit-ton of memes

I am reposting this drawing which, to me, shows how lonely and yet fierce Moiraine has been, how exhausted yet still full of hope she travelled forward. I followed Rosamund Pike into the unknown TV show and audiobooks only to be completely mesmerised by this remarkable character.

From the very first scene, I was hooked, admiring how much depth and care Rosamund Pike brought to her. She’s not just a woman with power, she’s someone who has carried the weight of the world on her shoulders, who sacrificed so much for so little. The quiet steel, the grief she hides, the way she keeps going anyway.

She takes up so much space in my head and in my heart, and my art is always me trying to put that into shape somehow. Sometimes I forget that I don't post enough to actually say this to the world. So here is.

Moiraine was the Lesbian Gandalf of The Wheel of Time, guiding others with purpose, and she's been through so much ever season, and now she’s silenced. That’s what this drawing is for me: a reflection on what remains after giving everything (season 1 ending wise).

I will forever miss her.
