I will not, in fact, stop saying "narcissistic" or "depressed" when talking about the actual things those words describe.
I'm sorry that you are inclined to let medical science name things The Gaping Cunt Disorder and Too Soggy To Function Disease, but personally, I am inclined to say, perhaps we should be naming mental illnesses the way we name physical ones: by describing symptom clusters in greek or naming them after the guy who figured out the cure.
Instead of literally saying, "Yes, they named it Gaping Cunt disorder so they could all call us Gaping Cunts and get away with it, but you guyyyyyyyys, if we just band together we can change 2500 years of etymologically rooted use of the word Gaping Cunt as an insult across a dozen languages! This is a good use of our highly limited time and energy as disabled activists, compared to more realistic and low expense goals like getting it named something else."
Typically I agree with your takes, but not this one, to be honest.
Pre NPD diagnosis existing, "narcissistic" had a different meaning - it meant a mix of "fixated on oneself" and "autosexual", which are pretty neutral ways to be unless someone is super judgemental, not carrying that much negative baggage. The idea that it means "evil soulless abuser" is pretty recent, it does not come from the myth of Narcissus, it entirely comes from the cluster of ableist stereotypes about lack of empathy and needing emotional validation. If we rename the diagnosis to something else, that "something else" will gain a similarly derogatory meaning once people catch up with the change. Because ableists hate the group the word describes, not the word. E.g. there is another cluster B related word that's used just as negatively as "narcissist" - "psychopath", which literally translates to "disease of the mind", a pretty bland and vague description that could be applied to any mental illness. And yet it is colloquially used to mean "scary serial killer", due to aforementioned anti cluster B stigma.
Plus, there are lots of labels out there that started out as derogatory or pathological, and ended up being reclaimed and used by the communities they describe. All the reclaimed slurs, certain fetish names, and much more. People are attached to these terms. I have ASPD with NPD traits, I don't personally call myself a narcissist, just an antisocial, but my boyfriend is a narcissist. It's a point of community and pride for us. We want to own this terminology, not replace it with something more palatable.
And I keep seeing this specific rhetoric device you're using here with "gaping cunt disorder", where people make up some kind of an artificial insulting comparison for personality disorder names, and it's honestly becoming exhausting emotionally.
As a narcissist, I can still remember back when the term colloquially used only meant "self-obsessed". And I'm really not that old, so I feel like folks are forgetting something.

I hate that 'boy' (or 'child') keeps getting used to refer to shitty men in supposedly "feminist" songs, as if misogyny is somehow connected to being young or immature, and not to social conditioning and dogshit ethics.

Fam, idk if yall know it, but proshipping nowadays means shipping incest and pedophilia. At least the stuff I come across that's tagged as proshipping is often one or both of those two.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of that, so I avoid the proshipping tag. It doesn't mean I'm against shipping. I have been a multishipper for years, in many different fandoms, but I'm just not okay with incest and pedophilia.
I know that platforms like AO3 that don't censor works are there partly because of the incest and pedophelia shippers. And I'm grateful for that. But I think that people should be allowed to avoid stuff like that if it conflicts with their morals.
(Which is also why I love AO3 cause it allows me to filter, and I am big on the "don't like, don't read" mindset, and AO3 allows me to avoid stuff that I dislike.)
You sound like a proshipper. You don't mind other people doing what they want, but you want to be able to avoid it? That's all it is. That's why AO3 has such extensive filtering abilities. It was built by what are now called "proshippers", people who think fans should be able to write what they like, and think readers who want to avoid that content should be able to do so very easily.
I don't know what tags you're looking at, but all I see when looking at "proshipper" tags are discussion like this. Maybe some people add "proshipper" as an extra tag to keep antis away. It's no good as a search term for content, anyway, so most people who would call themselves "proshippers" aren't going to tag their work with it.
I also don't know why you're looking up "proshipper" tags if you think you're going to find content there that will upset you.
Im not searching it out, thanks for assuming (/half joking). I follow a ton of fandom and ao3 related tags tho, and sometimes it shows up. And the stuff I've seen tagged with 'proshipping' usually promoted that stuff, which again, it’s whatever to me, I just don't wanna have to deal with it
But anyway, thanks for explaining it a little more. Again, because of the stuff that sometimes showed up between the tags I do follow, I assumed that proshippers were straight up supporting incest/pedophelia in fandom spaces, which I don't. I'm neutral. I don't wanna see it, but I also don't wanna silence it. I thought that made me some kind of nameless neutral party or an antishipper at worst, lol.
I recommend looking into the history of the terms we're discussing if you want to know more. Fanlore actually has some good articles about this for a start.
Full offense, but if you're touring and performing live, and you have the energy and resources to do a second show that is:
in the daytime
without alcohol or smoking
without flashing/strobing lights
with a sign language interpreter
at a fully physically accessible venue
and you choose not to do that second show "because it's not the full performance experience", then your performance probably just sucks - not to mention that you *definitely* suck.

Animal welfare and animal rights are different things; it is good and normal for humans to be slightly anthropocentric while acknowledging our role within the greater ecosystem. Factory farming should indeed be dismantled- I want all animals harvested for food/leather/fur/bones/organs to have full and rich lives with as little suffering as possible before they're harvested. But it is not anti-leftist to live as a predator within the ecosystem. It is not more wrong for humans to eat salmon than it is for bears and eagles to do so.
i used to work in a vegan restaurant and it had basically all the same labor and management problems as the other restaurants i worked at that served meat. obviously. because it was a business in a capitalist system so obviously theres an economic incentive to pay workers the bare minimum and charge customers the maximum you can get away with.
in fact, the restaurant used the vegan identity and environmentalism as fuel for their marketing in quite cynical ways. at the same time they had a deal with Whole Foods (implicated in prison labor allegations btw) to source ingredients, meaning that there were transcontinentally shipped produce lol. for example we used frozen blueberries that were product of Chile. for a restaurant in the pacific northwest region in the united states of america. there are blueberry farms in oregon, washington, etc. But it’s cheaper to exploit south american farms than get local blueberries i guess. (which still by and large exploit the labor of migrant farmworkers from mexico and south and central america, but i digress)
i was vegetarian at the time and i had a lot of deep conversations with my coworkers and manager and the conclusion i came away with is that veganism is merely a cultural practice and is not inherently “leftist” in any way. if you consider human lives equal to animal lives i think that is not compatible with a clear-sighted materialist analysis of the world we live in. its practically a religious belief. which, like, okay, you can be religious, you can have irrational beliefs, but that’s not what “”””leftism”””” is about. that’s not really what any socialist or communist theory is about. it could be syncretized with socialist theory, but it would always merely be an ill-fitting addendum.

"Thought crimes are not real" was originally meant to refer to intrusive thoughts. People have bastardized it to mean making pedophilic fiction, which is an action, not a thought.

That's not what I'm saying at all? The problem is that literally every time there's any kind of "sfw fetish community" it always ends up being a bunch of adults talking to children about their fetishes and using the excuse of "well TECHNICALLY it's sfw so it's totally fine". It makes it way too easy for predators to hide behind a layer of plausible deniability
"Predators can hide behind it" is a censorship excuse that's overwhelmingly applied to marginalized sexuality (and yes, fetishes are a marginalized sexuality).
