I'm beginning to realise that I'm much less of an adult that I thought I'd be at age 19, im legally an adult but oh lordy if I don't feel like one.

I feel like people don't say this enough but, it's okay to change your mind. And it's okay to change what you're doing at any point

A year ago, I was convinced that I was perfectly healthy, that I'd go to university and breaze through the three years there and nothing could possibly go wrong, a year ago I was convinced that I wanted a degree, and I was also convinced that no one would ever want to date me.

Now a year later, I went to university and dropped our after three months. I'm in therapy because of five year of mental health problems that I ignored and am in a relationship with honestly the most amazing guy.

And all of that is okay, because nothing is fixed and nothing matters, in the end, if you make a mistake you learn from it and you move on with your life to do better things. Life has a way of throwing the most unexpected things at you and the best way to deal with them, I've found, is to just roll with the punches and just get up and carry on. Sometimes that's hard to do; I guarantee that it's worth it.

Nothing is set in stone, believe in yourself and carve your own path.

okay so i moved out recently, to go to university yey i think i’m an adult now but like, fending or yourself is so fuckin hard man. i don’t wanna sound like a whiny bitch or anything but no one in school ever teaches you how to survive as an adult. no one teaches you how to find to best bank account or how t budget or the best ways to save money, which would be useful since y’know, we live in a world where you pretty much have to pay to live anyway so knowing how to make the little money i have go further would be great. 

and actually live away from home sucks, i miss being able to curl up on the sofa with my parents on a night to watch tv, i miss my dads cooking,i’m using all his recipes but nothing tastes the same, and eating alone in my accommodation it just plain sucky. 

ive just been thrown in the deep end and expected to swim and no i have no money a pile of dishes taller than me and a rapidly aproaching deadline for which im somehow already 3 weeks behind. ive only been here a month

I'd like to share something that my Dad said to me today because I feel like everyone needs to hear it every once in a while.

Okay so, storytime:

We were talking about a guy at college who I dislike, and I was telling him that I dislike him because, although I would consider him a sort of friend, he's kind of toxic. He constantly leeches off the people around him, both for physical things and emotions. He always makes a big deal about being upset about something, makes scathing remarks online if you don't immediately cater to him, but turn the tables, and he doesn't want to know.

I've had to leave the room in tears a few times over the 2 years I've been at college and every time he's completely blanked me and never once asked if I'm okay.

And after I'd finished explaining to my Dad the situation with this guy who I hesitantly call a friend, he paused took a deep breath and told me to imagine a tree. Specially a fruit tree.

He said that in this tree, I was the trunk, large branches were family and the rest of the branches were my friends.

He then explained that its good for a tree to cut of the unnecessary outer branches so that new ones could grow and that the tree will produce more fruit.

He also told me that if lager branches become deseased they too should be cut off before they can infect the rest of the tree, ever if they are physically harder to cut.

So I should do the same, trim the unnecessary friends from my life and cut out toxic family members and it'll make me a better, healthier more fruitful person in the long run.

I seriously hate the feeling if drifting away from someone you're close to, it's probably one of the worst feeling.

It's like one day this person is there and everything's great and the next thing you know it been six months since you was even saw them. It make me feel like I did something to drive them away even if I know its not the case at all.

Sometimes people grow in separate directions and it sucks but it's a part of life, even if I don't want to let go just yet...

Honestly I'm so grateful for my best friend because I can message her at litterally any time of day and even if she can't immediately respond she always does later.

She's also one of the only people who let's me rant and when I'm done she usually makes some joke about it and always knows exactly the kind of joke that I need.

An example: I was ranting about a guy in my class who I dislike strongly and she responded with "it's okay dude, we'll stab him one day"

It's good to know I've got a friend who's down to murder for me.
