About to "maybe things were better back in the day" post but the relic of the past I'm lionizing is the pre-streaming era where what you watched was whatever the TV spat out at you. If you were an anime fan you watched whatever Toonami was airing and if you didn't like the show you either abstained or you watched it anyway. Sometimes you do eat garbage but overall I think you developed a diverse media diet and a tolerance for wildly varying levels of quality. You shouldn't view online streaming and piracy sites as an excuse to ensure you only eat five star meals tailored to you. Instead you should roleplay as the 80s otaku who watched whatever trashy OVA or fansubbed series they could find at animecon, but now you're scavenging for bootlegs in the Library of Babel.
You gotta enjoy some trashy anime to enjoy peak.
Go into another genre every now and then find your mid.
"The man who only enjoys peak will be gifted valuable gems and spurn them as coal. The man who only enjoys slop will be pay for lumps of coal as though they were gems. He who masters mid will treasure the smallest diamond in any stone and his furnace will never go cold."
- Laozi, longtime Bleach appreciator
I know my bias is that i kinda hate they made legend of korra and im not gonna watch it after i finish watching avatar.
Like i see it and i feel like i would be making a 1 hr video titled the good the bad the avatar because there are general moments in korra that i think are great and some i think are absolute garbage that i question how these are the same writers like nah that thing sucks.
It would just be a slog to watch with my bias towards it like i have for the comics.

it's okay if you as a lesbian want to fuck the straight blonde popstar but you can't be pretending she's a lesbian too girl at least make it a lesbian corruption kink or some shit
"taylor swift is a lesbian" check your house for mold
"I can fuck the heterosexuality out of sabrina carpenter" questionable taste, but much more respectable

documentaries actually hold a lot of power for evil if you think about it because they have this expectation of neutrality and rationality that causes people to immediately believe everything the documentary tells them lol it’s kind of crazy. and they don’t even hold to a semblance journalistic integrity. especially this era of cheap quick netflix crime documentaries narrated by cops
I remember watching a documentary about World War II that said Stalin didn't like Nazi Germany because of its racial policies, as if pogroms and genocides and work camps that killed thousands of ethnic minorities didn't happen in the good old USSR. That dislike sure didn't stop him from signing a nonaggression pact and dividing up Poland with him, or taking that opportunity to invade Norway. That brought up the fact that the Allies had known about the concentration camps years before their "discovery", but oh, they were too focused on winning the war to do anything about them, even though Jewish advocates were begging Roosevelt to just send some planes to bomb the tracks to the camps to slow down the deaths and he said, "Nah" (to say nothing of his sending American citizens from the Japanese and German internment camps into the heart of the war as part of prisoner exchanges, only to get them caught in Nagasaki and the USSR rape of Berlin. Roosevelt always gets a free pass on his misdeeds and it's horrifying but I digress). And of course, that had time to talk about the moral implications of atomic bombs but have no mention of Japan Unit 731.
Never assume nonfiction can''t be lying to you, either by commission or omission.
The reading comprehension and overall common sense on this website is piss poor.
