Nick, James, Felix and myself started a boy band to raise awareness. We still can't play a gig due to covid though. But all jokes aside, Our industry was the first to shut down and will be one of the last to reopen.

Usually you don't see any of us because we work to entertain and are barely seen by the public. Tonight however you will see us. We will be lighting up venues across the county in red from 9pm to midnight.

Live events employ over 12 million people.

Live events contributes over $1 trillion annually to the US economy.

95% of live events have been cancelled due to COVID-19.

Being honest

Let me be honest for a second. Sometimes I have trouble being honest. I’m honest at work and I’m honest with my close friends.

That being said, I do struggle with being honest with my family and friends when it comes to certain things. You may know what certain things I am talking about here. My sexuality and identity in the LGBTQIA+ community. I am not out, but I am not hiding in the closet either. If you ask me how I identify, I will tell you, but for some reason, I have trouble correcting my family and friends when they just assume I’m straight.

For example, I was talking with my mom just today about something that happens months ago. I had been talking with someone and i shared some deep stuff. And instead of feeling supported, I felt dragged through the mud. I broke off that relationship. When sharing that with my mom she said, “well SHE shouldn’t have said those things to you. You deserve a GIRL who supports you.” I almost corrected her, (It was a boy who I had been telling her about), but I couldn’t. Maybe it wasn’t the right time, but when will the right time be? I hate lying to my parents about my relationships. I hate not being able to honestly and earnestly cry on my mother’s shoulder over humans who I have dearly loved and who’ve broken my heart.

I’m sick of being dishonest with my loved ones. This year is the year that I am going to finally tell them the truth. It will not be easy, and it is jumping into the unknown. But I am the same person that I have always been; whom they have always loved. It’s time.

Bisexual YouTuber Lilly Singh makes history as NBC’s new late night host

She is the first queer person of colour to host a major talk show.

“Out YouTube star Lilly Singh is getting her own late-night NBC talk show, A Little Late with Lilly Singh.

The comedian’s new show will replace Carson Daly’s long-running show Last Call with Carson Daly, which airs in the 1:35am slot.

The new show, which launches in September, will make her the only woman to host a late-night talk show on a major network, the only woman of colour on late-night television, and the only LGBT+ person.

Singh announced the news on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (March 13), explaining: “I’m so excited, because I truly get to create a show from scratch.

“I get to make it inclusive, I get to create comedy segments and interview people and create something that I really believe in, and I’m so honoured and humbled.”

The TV personality said she was “honoured and privileged” to be offered the role, adding in a press release: “An Indian-Canadian woman with her own late night show? Now that is a dream come true.
