bleh, drawing with a mouse is still hard, but i caved and used a base so it would be a little easier '^ ^ base is by whlart on deviant art :] this is kestrel! hes an "artificial independent" plant who i made after watching trigun because i love speculative biology and cyberpunk esc tech and think plants are so cool and did i mention i love speculative biology- his prosthetics are a lot less high tech then vash's even if they look similar- kestrels are actually made out of an advanced type of resin to stop him from accidentally shocking everything he touches! anyhows, thanks for letting me info dump in your inbox and i hope you have fun whether you pick him or not! happy late stampede saturday!

First of all thank you so much for sharing your oc with me! Kestrel is such a unique and fitting name I love it. Also, I love designs like this, it's sleek and simplistic, I think a full body would have done him more justice so his prosthetics could really shine! I hope to see more of him in the future!! π
Also poor baby I imagine him walking around at first with metal prosthetics bc that's all that's available to him and he has fried messy hair bc he keeps accidentally shocking himself π

I'm actually (relatively) new to the Fandom as well. I met some internet friends a little over a year ago that forced me to watch the original anime/read maximum and im so thankful they did!
Also I have to say while I adoreeeeee stampede, my absolute favorite thing that has come out of it is all of the new fanart from both original trigun and stampede! The Fandom is alive for the first time since I've been an active fan and im LIVING for it!!

I hate the "too girly" argument like a woman can't be girly and capable at the same time. I would even argue that manga Meryl IS a girly girl (and childish as well) but she doesn't get a lot of opportunities to show that bc she's constantly being shot at.

Manga and stampede Meryl are both workaholics, with Roberto stating episode one that she graduated (reporter school?) At the top of her class. Roberto even says multiple times that she rushes into danger and she needs to give us on this job (but of course she wont because Meryl would never shy away from a tough job!) She just doesn't have the opportunity to spread her wings yet because her partner is also her mentor thats way older and more experienced than her. In the manga her partner is Milly so understandably Meryl takes on more of a leadership role because she's 1)older and or 2) a higher rank in the company.
I hate to say it because I love him so much but Roberto must die for Meryl to grow and come into her own π
Anyways not to rant on your post but Meryl is a silly goofy girl that is so passionate and capable and orders ice cream at bars. She's still the same Meryl we know and love from maximum, she's just in an earlier stage of her career!
