Bingge vs Bingmei!

I can't remember/find the post I saw recently describing this, but reading the books I pictured both versions of Binghe differently based on their experiences. Bingge being obsessed with looks and excess because he can't have the things he really needed/ wanted and trying to fit a standard by changing things about himself that he may have been bullied for in the past vs Bingmei having his shizun and knowing he is loved as is. I see being tan from working outside as a kid or having unruly hair that you were never taught how to care for being things Bingge feels he has to fix about himself after being ridiculed for them by MF and maybe SJ.

Speaking of drawing emotions: help? Do you have any tips or tricks on how to draw various emotions? Whenever i try it jut never works, but i would really like to get into comic making someday, and the way you draw expressions is just so incredible and readable

Hi! It’s cliche, but yeah.. use references. You can use either of these two references to practice. (photo or a bun with emotions)

Practice drawing the same facial expression on characters who react in different ways.

My art-style is very simple, so it’s important to me that people can quickly and easily read the mood. That’s why I use the eyes and eyebrows to show how a character feels. Body language also helps convey changes in the overall vibe.

Aaaand I often exaggerate emotions for comedic effect.

This might not be the most professional advice, but maybe it’ll help a bit. Good luck with your comic!
