I think some of you forgot/didn’t know that gay used to be THE go-to insult for everything you didn’t like. And I know several people who used to get called lesbian in a derisive and negative way. Queer is not unique in being used as a slur. To think that is to forget our history, and to have listened to those who wish to erase it.

I love the headcanon that the Ego’s birthdays are celebrated on the day that their first video came out. It’s always a day of joy that even the most serious Egos can’t escape…

However, only Dark remembers that he has two real birthdays: Celine and Damien’s birthdays to be exact. And no one else in the house knows why, but on two specific days every year, Dark is to be avoided on all cost. He becomes more irritable, more sadistic, more likely to lash out at anyone who crosses his path. His anger towards Mark is at its peak. Overall it’s a nightmare and no one really knows why.

But on the other hand, there’s always one day a year where Dark seems more mellow and contemplative. His form splits less, his two halves in unison. If you watch him closely on that day you can catch his soft smiles in Wilford’s direction and undertone of affection in the words he says towards Wilford. You can barely hear him gently humming an old birthday song under his breath.

And every morning on that day Dark barely catches himself before he says “Happy birthday William”
