Having a sibling or three really like….gave you interpersonal skills and moral exercises from an early age that people who were only children had to learn later on, because nothing makes your brain work overtime than having a ride or die relationship with someone who you would suplex through the dining room table in a second if they touched your shit, but you’d also stand up and take the blame for some shit if you knew it wasn’t their fault or stepping in and swinging if they were being bullied by someone else

Having siblings is basically you switching from I-Will-Slap-You-If-You-Touch-My-Ramen mode to I-Dropped-The-Phone-Not-Her-So-Ground-Me-Instead and not only does it give you interpersonal skills but also lowkey teaches you on how to deal with kids, especially if you have a sibling who is waayy younger than you are and by younger I mean at the very least half a decade younger.

Having a sibling (I only have one) is a constant stress roller coaster of finely balanced rules and loopholes that change the moment parents are involved but you never hold it against one another? It’s just what happens?

my brother and I are both in our twenties and we still tagteam our parents; my parents are in their fifties and last Christmas I sat there stonefaced and watched my mom and her two siblings finesse this giant fake story out of thin air to keep my grandma from finding out about something they did that they knew she wouldn’t approve of. You never grow out of it.

My brother is 23, I am closer to 30 than I would like, and we still go from “I’d kill for you” to “I’ll kill you” at the drop of a hat. Not to mention the “I’ll help you hide the body”/“never seen this person before officer” switch.
