[[ Five Year Old Azula ]] [[ Independent RP Account ]] Before Ozai corrupted her into being a sadist, even Azula was once an innocent child. She even looked up to her older brother. This Azula is a nice person. Please read the "READ THIS" and "HEADCANON" pages linked above before trying to roleplay with Azula. She is younger than the child shown in the "Zuko Alone" flashbacks. She is not cruel to anyone yet, regardless of the monster she grows up to be later. If your post makes references to Azula being mean, cruel, hateful, spiteful, or any of that, it will be treated like a roleplay where Azula is meeting someone from the future, as none of that has happened yet.

Calling for volunteers! All participants get a COMPLETELY custom layout with personalised graphics and everything at the end.

I’d like at least five, ideally, but every single participant will get a completely custom layout, that is for their personal use ONLY, not released with the rest of the layouts. What’s going on is, I’m going to make a few beta versions of some layouts, using some new coding tricks I’m trying.  This should make the layouts’ html smaller, which will make them load MUCH FASTER.  But they could also break, be buggy, and otherwise frustrating.

What you need to do, as a beta tester, is be willing to apply the layout to a tumblr of your own that you ACTIVELY USE.  Not a layout testing tumblr that you have a couple dummy entries on, but a tumblr that you actively reblog stuff on regularly.  All different sorts of posts, too.  Chats, audio posts, photo posts, photo set posts, the more variety of what you post, the better.  Screenshot what it looks like to you when you first apply it and get the customisations you’d like to use on it done, and submit it here along with the URL of the tumblr along with your screen resolution.  If in your course of your blogging you spot it acting weird or displaying things improperly, screenshot it and submit that here with the permalink to the post that made it act weird.  I’ll also come browse your blog periodically to see if I spot anything weird, too.

Your time as a beta tester will last at most two weeks, possibly less, and your custom layout can be as ornate as you like, no restrictions on your requests whatsoever.  If your time as a beta tester lasts less than two weeks, you still get a custom layout, no restrictions on what you request.

Hey everyone!  I’ll be working on adding more layouts to the site shortly, but for the moment, please help yourself to layout 001.  Plans in the works also include timeline pages, blogrolls, custom ask boxes, and more!

What kind of resources would you guys like?  Tutorials?  Anything?  What can I do, how can I help?  Just shoot a message here and I’ll work on adding anything you can dream of!

Hakoda remembered seeing that a few times himself, though in decidedly more lethal circumstances than the little girl on his shoulder.  There was one firebender who used his spear to focus his firebending to great intensity, and another who would send out explosive blasts of flame from a club he carried.  “You’re going to be a great warrior some day, Azula.  But for now, you’re still my little firefly.  We’ll see about finding you a weapon when you’re older.”

"Okay," she pouted, leaning against him a bit more and sighing sadly.  "Are fireflies really a good thing to call me?  I wanna be something big and scary and dangerous, not little and cute like a firefly.  I wanna be...  I wanna be...  A snow puma."

Hakoda was there to help her out; while he couldn’t feed Kinta, there were other reasons she might be crying.  Taking her from where she lay, Hakoda gently stretched the baby over his shoulder, softly patting her back until the offending pocket of gas left her, bringing a tranquil expression to her face.  Hakoda slowly set her back down before reaching for Senna; it was summer outside, so the temperature would be inoffensive; maybe a walk would help?  He took the midnight blue eyed girl in his arms, giving Becca a kiss on cheek before heading out for a stroll around the village.

Finally the child in her arms calmed, and Becca set her down again, then retreated to the corner again to sit and feel sorry for herself.  Seventeen with three new babies, with four older children…she had to wonder about why on earth she’d gotten into this.  She felt supremely stupid, but now she also felt upset with herself for having snapped.  Seventeen with three new babies or not, she wasn’t a child either, and couldn’t really afford to let herself get like this when the children needed her.

Hakoda got a few dirty looks for carrying a screaming baby around the village, but most nodded understandingly, though they still plugged their ears.  Hakoda found himself giving the baby threats in a gentle, cooing voice.  ”If you’re like this to us, maybe you’d appreciate letting a nice Kalupalik adopt you.”  He’d remember to tell Senna about the green skinned creatures later; if she strayed to far, one of them would scoop her up into her amauti and carry her away.  ”That goes for you too, Azula.  Your fight with Sokka was making Becca sad, so I want you to stop it and apologize to him once we get back,” he cautioned, turning to the girl who had followed him out of the tent to flee Becca.

Azula stared up at him with wide eyes.  ”B-but Sokka said girls can’t throw boomerangs as good as boys and when I said we should have a contest to see, he said no,” she whined.  ”I can throw just as good as him,” she insisted petulantly.  ”Don’t let the Kalupalik take meeeee,” she whined, taking a hold of his leg.

Hakoda was going to evade the fight all together, making the low humming noise the sickly green skinned, long nailed creatures that stole away disobedient children, lowering himself onto his knees until he was humming in her ear.  ”Your brother’s just being silly.  You’re a great boomerang thrower, and you’re a firebender.”  He gave his little firefly a kiss on the cheek before hauling her up on his spare arm.  ”Ooh, you’re a big girl now.”

Azula squealed with fear when he made the humming noise, clinging tightly to him. She laughed when he picked her up, shifting to hold onto him to help keep her balance.  "I'm gonna be a warrior when I'm big.  I've gotta be good with a boomerang.  But I want something I can bend with, too.  I remember there were guards at the palace that could firebend straight through their swords.  That would be so neat!"

Zuko was hiding behind a bush, doing his best to keep completely covered, peeking out through a tiny one of the branches.  His sister was in the courtyard practicing, and from what he could see, perfecting her new bending technique that she had so often bragged about.  True, the young prince had insisted that he didn’t have time for his childish ‘bending forms’, and he acted as if he was unimpressed when she had promised to show it to their father, but secretly.. well, he wanted to learn how to do it too.  It looked complicated, and Zuko knew that it was far beyond his skill level already.

A few more moments of jealousy, and finally he was heated up enough to take action.  Huffing loudly, he stood up suddenly, smoothing down the front of his tunic and marching over to his sister, arms crossed, hip jutted out to one side.  ”How do you even do that?” he asked, a bitter flare to his tone.  ”Why are you learning stuff like that already?”

He tried not to sound jealous; he didn’t want to admit that he was struggling.  He simply wanted to sound as if his instructor had refused to teach him that particular form or something.  He was ashamed of the fact that his sister was already a better bender than he was, but he wouldn’t admit it for any amount of yuans in the world.

Azula frowned, folding her arms when Zuko came over to demand information.  "Why do you care?" she countered.  "You never cared before and you never liked me and you hate me and now you want me to teach you something?  No," she insisted, stamping her foot and letting a cloud of flame erupt from the movement.  She stared up at him with a hurt and betrayed expression, not sure what to say to him or even do at that point.

"You're bigger than me.  You should know more than me, not less.  What's the matter, are you a dumdum?" she demanded, still hurting from the last time they'd spoke.  She was angry, she was hurt, and her father was teaching her that the best way to deal with that was to lash out in return.  When someone hurts you, hurt them back, and hurt them back harder.  He promised it would make Zuko stop picking on her.

"Lies!" she declared, scooping the child up into her arms as she continued the hug. "Well I'm still here, little one. I still like you."

She hugged her back tightly, hiding her face against the woman's cheek. "I'm glad somebody does. Mommy doesn't and Zuzu doesn't and Uncle doesn't...nobody likes me at all except for Daddy and you."

Azula squeaked awkwardly, but hugged her back nonetheless.  "I've been too busy training to play with anyone and now I'm lonely and I don't think anybody likes me any more!"
