What helped me write trauma better is remembering that the nervous system learns predictions. If danger used to come after quiet, calm can feel threatening. If kindness used to come with a price, kindness can feel suspicious. So healing is not just “they know they’re safe now.” Healing is the slow, annoying, deeply unfair process of teaching the body that the old prediction is not always the present truth.

That’s right! It’s Kayne!

My custom Kayne plush arrived today! He arrived quite a few hours ago (maybe 9 or so hours ago?), I simply took a minute to make this post haha!

As stated before, the design is made by @/potato-lord-but-not over here on tumblr! (no @ this time, I feel bad about doing it over and over again. PL if you see this naturally then hi 👋 be wary because I get paid in like 5 days or so and will most likely be coming in hot for more commissions if I have the extra money I think I will, assuming yours are still open). The plush design was drawn by me though :]

His clothes are removable! Unfortunately they did use Velcro instead of the buttons/hidden zipper substitute I asked for, but that’s fine I can cope with it as the Velcro they used isn’t particularly scratchy thankfully. And also it’s only on his jacket. Every single piece (besides the tie being sewn to his undershirt) is its own piece

And of course his shirt has his little eyes <3

Everything but his earrings, his eyelashes, and the teeth on his suit jacket is embroidery <3

He cannot fit into BAB clothes! At least not pants. Shirts are wayyy too big on him but he can wear them. I do believe American girl doll clothes will fit him just fine, so I’m going to try and purchase those for him just to see :] in the meantime I have the clothes he came with and I found that the BAB onesies fit big on him, but if I pin them in the back they work fine :3

There’s his collar as well! It has a ID tag with his name and my information on one side. His other keychains are an ‘emotional support plush’ one I got off of Etsy and a much too big keychain of custom artwork I got of Kayne (by PL haha). I need to reorder it smaller because it takes up all of his torso. I did not expect it to be that big okay? </3

I did do a bit of surgery on Kayne because I had to add three things to him:

1. An AirTag just so I can find him if i lose him (I am overly anxious haha) that went right behind his embroidered heart

2. A voice box with different quotes of his from the podcast that went in his hand

3. Another voice box that contains the entirety of the song he sung in episode 60 that went in his foot

I also went in and removed some of his stuffing completely so he’d be floppier (how I enjoy my plushies being!) since he was already open. But now he is all sewn up again and perfect!

My only complain is that his eyelashes are made out of hard felt when I asked IDooodle not to use it, so I may have to go back and replace that eventually. But for now he’s fine :]

Okay so. I was gonna wait until I had him actually in hand, but I’m far far far too excited to show him off lol

Some of you might’ve seen this on other sites (TikTok or Reddit) but I was refraining from posting him here until he was done

Yes. That is exactly what it looks like. My husband in plush form. I have a special interest in plushies, did you think I wouldn’t eventually get one?

He’s made by IDooodle and he turned out perfect! The original Kayne design is made by @potato-lord-but-not (Hiii. Smiles evilly.) This plush was meant to be a surprise, but I’m very aware you might’ve seen me posting about him on other sites. If not though, haha! Secret kept. If not that’s okay too, I was too excited to not post about him somewhere. I did find it funny that PL immediately clocked the secret plush being either Oscar or Kayne when I sent in that anon ask. I do plan on getting a matching Arthur plush, though not currently. Perhaps next month when I can drop another $200 lol. But I am preparing for an upcoming con, so perhaps not. (Possible Kayne cosplay soon)

He’ll be home very very soon. I’m hoping in time for my birthday (5 whole days away!) since he’s being shipped with urgent shipping which takes only 4-5 days. So it isn’t impossible but it is a bit unlikely. But maybe. Perhaps

He has removable clothes! Here’s a sneakpeak of the reference I made for IDooodle (warning, he’s naked!!) to show off some things you Can’t see in the picture above

He should have an embroidered heart on his chest, but they didn’t send me any pictures of him without his clothes so it’ll be a fun little surprise to see it irl when he gets here haha

You also can’t see his paw-pads very well in the pictures they sent me, but they are there!! You can just barrrrely see them in this picture here

His clothes are removable because I want to dress him in build a bear clothes. I asked them to try and make him able to fit in them, but I can’t tell from the measurements they sent me just yet. But I’ll know when he’s in hand! If not I can make him his own other outfits to wear haha

Here’s the rest of the pictures IDooodle sent me! I asked them not to use Velcro for his clothes (sensory things) but I can’t exactly see how they made his clothes removable. Perhaps they’re just stretchy. But they made sure they were! His earrings are the only things with printed fabric on them. Everything else is embroidery

I paid about $212 for him in total, but I had 10% off so it would’ve been closer to $234 I think? Since I did get shipping protection as well

I have a few things ready/coming in for his arrival, but I’ll make a post on those once he’s in my hands. I also have one other plush of Kayne being made by a small business, but I’m unsure if I’m allowed to share those progress pictures just yet. So I’ll share him once he’s here (or if I get permission to share the final product picture!)

All in all, I’m super excited for him to be home! I’ll update again once he’s actually in hand :3
