I find it fascinating how these rituals completely transcend religion and offer us comfort knowing that we have treated an empty vessel with such respect. Creating a monument in memoriam is something many of us have done since childhood, whether it be for our beloved pets, a bird fallen from a tree, or a dead insect while playing in the yard. We practice grief and mourning because it is part of life, and we understand that from a young age. This print is comprised of photographs and illustration work done by myself.
