Psych inspired au where Ed - under the moniker of Blackbeard - is a well-known psychic, so much that not only does he have his assistant Izzy; he can also afford to hire people to handle his paperwork and such. His psychic detective agency is thriving.

The thing is, he's not actually psychic, just incredibly observant and blessed with an excellent memory. Only Izzy knows he's a fake.

Enter Stede Bonnet, a very wealthy and recently divorced man who decides to open a psychic detective agency as well, with himself as the psychic. The thing is, his supposed visions are just so incredibly wrong. He'd be laughed out of town for it if it wasn't for the fact that eventually, he always manages to hit on something that is so on the money that it's really hard to chalk it up to dumb luck. So he keeps solving cases, and he keeps getting business.

Izzy hears of this guy before Ed does, and normally he wouldn't care that some fool wants to play at being a psychic detective, but Stede charges barely anything for his services, and since he does solve the cases he gets, he's started inadvertantly stealing business from Blackbeard. It's not a problem yet, but...better to be safe than sorry.

Izzy decides to intimidate the man out of the business, but Stede refuses to be intimidated. Even worse, Ed finally becomes aware of who Stede is and how he operates, and becomes absolutely fascinated. Not only that, but he seems to be entertaining the idea that Stede could be the real deal - unpracticed and faking a lot of the time for sure, but nevertheless for real susceptible to actual visions.

Naturally, Izzy becomes obsessed with proving Stede is a fraud, both to get him out of the way and to make him lose his shine in the eyes of Ed.

Is Stede an actual psychic? Idk, I haven't decided if it's funnier if he is and is just kind of bad at it or if he isn't and just takes time to put his observation and improvisation skills to use. Or maybe he is psychic but even he doesn't know it lol.

Something incredible might be happening with this initiative. I've been keeping up with it over the course of the year it's been up and slowly losing hope (50% of time elapsed and only 17% of signatures, etc.) but this week has gotten more signatures than the previous 11 months combined.

First to establish the rules: to get an official reply from the commission and possibly legislation, an initiative needs 1 million signatures within 1 year AND at least 7 different countries need to hit their threshold which is calculated based on population (idk how it's calculated but a little more than 1 in 1000 adult citizens of the country need to sign to hit its threshold). This is to ensure that not all the support for an initiative comes from one or very few countries.

Ok so here's the graph for signatures that the conversion therapy ban got over time according to the wayback machine:

The deadline is in 2 days as I write this and there's a MASSIVE last minute push! 415,223 signatures to go still but the last update to the website added about 360,000 all at once. I think it might still be possible after all.

With that newest update we now also have hit 7 different country thresholds (up from 3 before this spike). Shoutouts to France, Finland, Spain, Belgium, Ireland, Netherlands, and Slovenia!

Found a figure that gets updated more often! Since my last post, we gained 67,883 signatures in just shy of 8 hours. At this pace we should hit 1 million in 40 hours from now. So whether or not the initiative succeeds is going to come down to the minute of when exactly the deadline is (i dont know how to look that up, it just says May 17th)

listen up chucklefucks, i just gotta say. I'm not defending zir, but I'm sad zie deactivated. Like, i get that trauma lasts a long time and the good stuff is maybe easy to forget?? so maybe it's just like that. And my beloved mutual @/pompeyspuppygirl made a post about zir clout chasing behavior, which is pretty shitty behavior if it's true (and if we're canceling someone it had better be pretty severe). anyways now that zie's gone pompeyspuppygirl said it was okay to make this post (again, thanks ppg everyone go follow her--really everyone in this whole drama is worth a follow)

ANYways yeah zie was my mutual and like, reblogged a lot my smaller posts. (that isn't to discredit what my mutual pompeyspuppygirl is saying about zie clout chasing ofc). AND idk zie was always reblogging art from new and undiscovered artists and reblogging donation posts (which if you don't know is really bad if you're trying to clout chase...) (again, though, ppg is my mutual i believe her.) and like, remember on valentines day i tried to blaze zir posts and zie told me to stop because zie didn't want the posts to go viral? (but again ppg is my mutual and has a lot of proof in the Google doc I'm not trying to disprove that I'm just saying what else I know)
