Sorry never heard of Free! What's it about? And also I love your art of it so I'm honestly really interested since those two guys you draw together give off that couple dumbass energy that I love!
I think the best way to describe Free! (also known as swimming anime in fandom) in my own words is a coming of age story. While the common foundation that connects the characters is swimming, the story itself focuses more on growing up, dealing with change, and the importance of the friends around you. The entire series starts with them in high school, with the main character Haruka “Haru” Nanase dealing with the pressures of finding a purpose and goal in life. The story circles around Haru and his friends who all play different and equally important roles in his life as he discovers himself and builds a dream for the future.
The two characters I draw (and my OTP for life), Rin Matsuoka and Sousuke Yamazaki. Rin plays a major role in the first season, serving as the “antagonist”, who deals with his own set of issues associated with failure, expectations, and ambition. He is one of Haru’s rivals and closest friends. Sousuke arrives in the second season, also serving as “antagonist” who’s ideals clash with Haru’s in the beginning. I won’t spoil much of Sousuke’s story, but he is Rin’s childhood friend and rival and “the one who understands Rin the most”. Once they get over all their dumb high school drama lmaooo they are huge dumbass bfs and always getting involved in the random antics the cast of characters get up to.
I would recommend the series! It’s a really fun show in my opinion. Back in the day I know it was the source of a lot of drama (coughs ship wars coughs) but fortunately that’s died down a lot. here is the order of things I would watch:

Free! Dive to the Future (Season 3)
Free! Road to the World -Yume- (Season 3 recap movie, with new scenes)
