What's your opinion of the cloistered theologians nowadays?

It looks like they’re being very careful. More so than necessary, even, but it’s better to err on the side of caution with these things.

(I do seem to be calmer in general since I moved to a newer city – Tnakienn is only a year and a half old, while Skestantië was pushing seven – but based on timing I don’t think that’s a factor. What really changed my mind was reading about the precautionary procedures they use.)

Why do you have dots on your face?

They’re cutaneous ephelides! They’re more common in Metets than Amentans, unless you count animals like wolfcats.

If your years are *that* long, like, how does your agriculture work?

We rotate crops multiple times per season.

What do you do with your equator and arctic regions? Have you ever visited?

I’ve never personally been, no. I think there’s some equatorial land that grows crops that can be harvested in spring and don’t need attention the rest of the year. There’s not much you can do with a polar climate, but I think some of the big cloud companies have server farms there.

How do you fit your ears into hats? Isn't it uncomfortable?

Our ears fold down. The real question is how you can stand having your hats touching the insides of your ears.

A few months ago I’d’ve said hairy eggs, but recently I’ve been on a snakeseed kick.

I’m playing it fast and loose with the timeline. All published canon events may be assumed to have already happened at some point vaguely in the past, unless Tefam does something that fundamentally changes the nature of the setting. (So, yes.)

Are there any unique forms of art from Metet that you'd like to tell us about?

There’s dance-song, where a performer simultaneously sings aloud and sign-dances the lyrics. Performance chefs combine sword-dancing with food preparation. Computer-generated literature and poetry require expertise in both creative writing and computer programming, and dancing robots can perform with inmetet virtuosity. And of course there’s games that use a metetmorphic peripheral.

Who will own the first habitable planet you colonize?

The discussion about that is purely theoretical at this point, and I’m not really following it in detail. It might depend in part on how the details of the technology shake out.

My guess, though, is that one way or another a country’s share of new resources is going to be roughly proportional to their existing wealth and power, maybe with some surprise newcomers if someone’s currently sitting on a natural resource that suddenly becomes valuable to FTL or metetforming technology.

How do you divvy up property on Metet?

I’m not sure I understand the question.

Most things are owned by whoever bought them from the previous owner. Newly created things generally belong to whoever created them, although there may be contracts for other arrangements, especially if someone else owns the raw materials and/or tools.

The belongings of someone who dies are distributed according to their will, with different countries having different default rules for the case where no will is available. The default in Ksestes distributes to the spouse(s) if there are any living, or otherwise to the relative(s) with the highest degree of consanguinity; in the case of ties, fungible assets are divided equally and nonfungible assets go to the youngest heir.

Commons goods like wilderness are generally either already divided up (usually by historical wars and/or treaties) or mostly uninteresting; I’m not sure how newly interesting/accessible resources are handled, but it probably involves various governments negotiating with the implicit background threat of war and/or just going for it without permission.

Missing Asks!

I FOUND IT! I FOUND THE ANSWER!

Okay, maybe not the final answer, but part of the problem! Asks keep getting eaten. Which is a big problem when you’re doing something anon and don’t want to ask the person “did you get it”? 

If the ask contains an ellipsis without a trailing space, it gets eaten. It says delivered, but it goes nowhere.

So “Well… then” will get delivered but “Well…then” won’t!

Hopefully this helps in getting your asks actually delivered.

Post I made for my RP account, but very relevant elsewhere.

After discovering this, I tested it. Five different accounts between two people, anon vs not. No matter what, without fail, if the trailing space was missing, the message was not delivered.

I contacted Tumblr staff. They were already fully aware this was happening, but it is not documented anywhere. Nor do they seem keen on giving their users a warning about it in any fashion.

Help me spread the word because the staff won’t!
