Hi, I'm BlackSheep! I'm a collector and sculptor from Ohio. This blog is for stuff about my own dolls, as well as the things I make. Thanks for visiting!
The half-siblings, together for technically the first time. If you've followed me for a while you may recall there was a previous incarnation for Ekaterina, an OR-Doll Katrina head on a Dollstown body. I'm not entirely sure why I chose that combo, since my original vision for Kat was Maskcat Lisette. I guess at some point my idea just changed, and then I had issues with that doll, and the idea changed back. I was never really content with the previous version anyway. I've since sold it, and now she's exactly what she should've been from the start.
Since there's only one doll left on my wishlist, I thought I'd cast the net once more. I know they're rare and tumblr isn't the hot spot for bjds anymore, but it never hurts to try.
I am looking for an Angel Region Present/Romantic Ren, the version of Ren with the half-closed eyes.
I don't care if it's the original release or the more recent Soom re-release, either is fine. I don't care if it's just the head. I don't care if it's damaged, yellowed, has a damaged faceup or no faceup. Honestly condition is not an issue so long as it's not been modded too much (it still has to have the original facial features).
I'm hesitant to put down an exact dollar amount here, but I am more than willing to pay fairly. I've been looking for this doll for almost two decades. If you have one you're willing to sell, or even any leads on one for sale, please please let me know!
Well hello on this random Wednesday! It's time for a surprise box opening!
Yeah once again I had said I wasn't going to buy more dolls this year, but last week I found one of the two remaining dolls on my wishlist for a reasonable price, and I had the money, so I pounced. Couldn't help it. So today I received a Maskcat Lisette! She will be Kaz's half-sister Kat, (the final version,) and I've been looking for her for a bit. Box opening (and dolly nudity) under the cut!
To start with, the shipping box!
This Lisette came from fellow user @crapolicedolls, who drew that adorable little cat on the label. Thank you again for selling her to me!
The inner box (or trunk, rather):
With a very sweet little note from the previous owner :) The trunk is pretty heavy, but that means it's very sturdy. It's ideal for toting her around and I'll probably use it if she comes to meetups.
Inside the box, featuring a tote bag and adorable cat-print bedding:
And the reveal!
The resin is a lovely color and slightly translucent. Here she is outside of the box:
Her faceup is gorgeous! And the eyes, kindly provided from the seller, fit her just right. They're not the color I had in mind for her, but I'm tempted to keep them in anyway. The body is lovely, with nice sculpting and smooth joints. She stands and sits quite well.
Here's the extra parts she came with, and a closeup of the tote bag:
And that's it for now! I'll get some better pictures of her later. She has a wig ordered and I already have plenty of ideas of clothes for her, plus fabric I've been stockpiling for the purpose. Just need to figure out some shoes, but with both flat and heel feet, my options are endless.
Pushed through and finished the shirts. Added buttons to the overalls. That's it on his outfits for now. I'm still going to give him some accessories, but the sewing is pretty much over.
Tiniest vest I have ever made. I don't know if I could do that again lol. As with most of my vests, this one is reversible. All that's left is the shirts.
First time making overalls! With his odd shape and making room for the tail, this was a whole-evening affair. I should probably look up a tutorial before trying again, since I'm pretty sure the way I did it is not the way anyone else does it lol.
They're not pretty in the back, but he has shorts, and his tail can fit through. He can even sit in them. I wanted to get more done tonight, but figuring this out took too long.
Ehhh it's not the best job, but I wasn't sure what direction I wanted to go at first. Probably needs more shaping, but I'll keep poking at it with the razor.
Finally had time to make the belt for Yue's robes. He looks so cute in these! The sparkly thin rope stuff holds the inner robe closed, and the outer belt is made from old sari trim.
As an aside, the blue fabrics came from a delightful little shop in Worthington, Ohio called Sew To Speak. If you're in the area, check them out.
I got some tiny leather shoes for the new guy. They're a bit big, but he stands in them just fine. Sorry for the clutter, I just wanted to take some quick pics before I go into work.
New robes for Yue. I like him in the kimono, but when he sits, it's kind of... revealing. I wanted him to have more covering, and I also just wanted to make him something. There's a belt in the works, I just got too tired.
