The most terrifying creatures of Arda. Meowkor with his lieutenant.
@sadsilmarilsoup drew the three Icons aka Fingolfin,Finarfin and Feanor making all the young elves pants at the ball drop~
I tried to make it visible that Fingolfin and Finarfin are younger as to Feanor and I laughed thinking about how many ppl must have told Fingolfin "you look just like your brother when he was younger"- when he is pouting
ungoliant is an alien black hole spider
and here I thought she couldn't get hotter
This was my first attempt of coming up with a design for Aredhel. Since then I have come up with her own heraldry but in this work from 2024 she has the one of her father Fingolfin as a background
Planning to get to work on some new art featuring Aredhel soon. Very much looking forward to it and to return to the realm of Gondolin

this and also the only difference between fanfic writers and writers who sell their own original works as careers is that fanfics aren’t monetized. that’s all.
being a “professional” writer doesn’t mean your works are inherently better than fanfics. I’ve read so many fics that are more professionally written than some published books.
whether or not a piece of writing is monetized has nothing to do with its quality.
I was thinking hard about the last time you asked me about a flag/sexuality/identity
I feel like I'm too old to question myself (again) but I did remember reading something about demisexual and felt like "oh thats me" -and then promptly forgot about it lmao
Rediscovering myself thx to a bird brain ✨️
And i like your dwarves SO much
Do you remember the salt and pepper Gimli from that game. That design of him lives rent free in my head
If this is too specific then feel free to refuse this and draw Thorin ✨️
I just need some seasoned dwarves in my life 😩💕
My favorite dwarf in his evening shirt, somewhere in Valinor
I feel you so much, I always question myself whether I am bi or lesbian or where on the Ace spectrum I am, and so on XD

Elven word of the day, 425/?
Ninniach from Sindarin
Meaning rainbow 🌈🌤️🌧️
From nîn meaning watery and iach meaning ford or crossing
Helyanwë is the most commonly used Quenya word for rainbow, from hellë, an older word for sky, and yanwë meaning bridge or crossing. Ilbrant, translating to heavenly bridge, was an older Sindarin word for rainbow 🌈🌦️
I’m compiling a collection of words for wind and clouds so I thought this would be a fun word to do beforehand!
Evil Girl Dinner
Its yet another Ungoliant and another kind of horror drawing style 😌✨️
Also have a alternative version without her little snacks babies under the cut
Thinking more about the valley, Nan Dungortheb, where it was rumored Ungoliant and her spawn fled to and lived for some time. Beren traveled through there to reach Doriath though we know little about his journey other than that it was a harrowing ordeal.
There is such potential for horrific landscapes, right there in the middle of Beleriand.
The spiders of Nan Dungortheb are not true spiders of course and their forms vary widely as does their size. Some appear as mere shadows. The webs themselves are mildly corrosive and slowly kill the trees they are woven between, creating an eerie landscape of hardened skeletons of wood.
The spinning of their webs produces a lulling sound that is used sometimes to lure prey though most of the elves know enough to be wary.
The presence of the spiders and other monsters was partially contained by the Girdle of Melian for the enchantment that wove and sang it was one they despised and avoided. Starved of prey, their own numbers began to decline. Some of course escaped East and their original forms began to more clearly resemble the spiders around them.
When Ungoliant’s spawn die, their forms become even less defined, spots of darkness that distort or even trap light, further warping the land.
And of course eventually, some of her spawn managed to leave the confines of the valley, ending with Shelob thousands of years later.
What are your thoughts on the origins of Ungoliant? Tolkien had a couple of ideas for her after all
I like to think she is a primordial being. A kin of the Valar so to speak. Here, I have portrayed her creation. She is born of the darkness between stars. I was inspired for this by all those beautiful pictures that come from the Hubble Telescope
Idk how compatible it is with Tolkien's cosmology, but I want to think of her as impossibly old, unknowable eldritch being. Something like remnant from an earlier universe or spawn of the Void or otherwise outside Iluvatar's jurisdiction so to speak. I imagine both the nameless creatures that crawl the bottoms of mountains, even the mention of whom would darken the sun, and Bombadil to be similarly Other. I like whenever Tolkien borders on Weird and I like the interpretations of characters that lean into that.
Ohh having her not connected to Illuvatar's creation but be born from the Void is also an intriguing thought. I like it 😌
Thanks to @happyperle and @they-of-clay for suggesting Feanor specific biblically accurate Feanor
So I drew him when he died😌✨️
I imagined it like a dying star, very beautiful and dramatic
I referenced Ivan Pokidyshev art of heat drawings but I made it even more intense <3
