God it's just so funny to me. They list out these exceptions because they KNOW that women are typically born with ovaries, a uterus, a certain level of various hormones. They know! If they didn't, they wouldn't be able to point to women (aka female humans) who are outside that norm.

I can tell you firsthand that this is bullshit. I, the daughter of black Caribbean immigrants, feel well “included” within radical feminism. Ever since being introduced to it, I’ve met other radfems of color. I’ve met black, Native, Asian, Latina, and mixed radfems. I’ve met plenty of lesbian and bisexual radfems. I’ve met Christian, Jewish, agnostic, spiritual, pagan, and atheist radfems. I’ve seen rich, middle class, and poor radfems. I’ve talked to radfems that are married with kids, happily single, or living a bunch of other lifestyles in between. I’ve contacted radfems of all ages, the oldest being 50, the youngest being 15. I’ve read the works of radfems from the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴 and Brazil 🇧🇷. I’ve spoken to radfems who used to be conservatives, libertarians, and anti-feminists. I’ve seen radfems consistently follow and report on women’s news in the devoloping world. I’ve talked and listened to radfems who are detransitioned, used to identify as trans or non binary, former sex workers, strippers and models, used to be in the BDSM community, or wholeheartedly believed in liberal feminism themselves prior.

We are diverse. And it sounds a little white feministy to ignore this.🤷🏾‍♀️

But of course, it doesn’t surprise me that liberal feminists refrain from acknowledging the diversity of radical feminists, because (falsely) stereotyping and generalizing us as a white feminist movement bolsters their claim that they’re the only “true” feminists, and that radical feminism is bad and evil.

It’s crazy how the women’s march was allowed to last one single year as a womens march. 2016 was all “pussy grabs back” and pussy hats and reproductive rights and then there was an immediate backlash about so called “white feminists” and how the womens march wasn’t ~intersectional enough~ and then in 2017 I was working in the city centre close to the main street where all the womens march stuff was happening so I thought I’d check it out after work and it was essentially all trans flags and fucking furries. No pussy hats in sight, a few posters about how feminism is for ~everyone~, but that’s basically it on the feminism front. The backlash to feminism after the 2016 womens marches was so severe. Britain’s first official ‘transgender students’ officer’ has been suspended over allegations that she posted explicit photographs on an online blog.

Jess Bradley, who was born male but refers to herself as a ‘nonbinary trans woman’, was the first person to be elected to the full-time paid role by the National Union of Students (NUS).

We’re not shutting down any rape crisis center. Vancouver Rape Relief is choosing to lose it’s government funding rather than following the regulations they’ve had a year to follow. Choosing to lose it’s government funding rather than help rape victims (and yes, this is about actual rape victims and not a volunteer at this point).

So don’t portray like we’re attacking it for no reason. The government is punishing it for not following the law. Plain and simple.

Trans women aren’t men, and the choice isn’t “giving up respurces and spaces” it’s “follow the law and actually help rape victims as a rape crisis center” or “lose our funding because we didn’t follow the law.”

Vancouver Rape Relief is the only rape crisis center in Vancouver. It doesn’t have the right to turn away rape victims as the only one in town. Until another is built, it has to open it’s doors to all rape victims.

Unless, of course, you think forcing rape victims to travel to other cities, some of which are up to a hundred miles away, to get help is something you would happily subject female rape victims to. If not, then why are you ok forcing that on trans rape victims? Do you hate trans people that much? Your comfort is not more important than a rape victim getting aid.

I actually looked up men’s shelters and some do exist though few and far between. In my city, there are about 2/3 shelters for homeless men but I couldn’t find much for men who are abused. I did find out about a controversial centre for men which has opened in Toronto but the reason why it’s controversial is that the group which opened it up (Canadian Association for Equality-CAFE) has a bad track record and has been labelled anti-feminist, not because people think the centre shouldn’t be there. It calls itself a group for equality while focusing almost exclusively on men’s rights, gained charitable status by lying about other groups/charities which it worked alongside with, and was banned from Pride March after a number of complaints about them. So even the most controversial men’s shelter isn’t being protested for existing, but rather because the group which has set it up has a history of being anti-feminist.

People say that men’s shelters are protested until they’re shut down because it’s easier than admitting that men don’t set them up in the first place because men basically expect women/feminists to do that for them and we’re not. We set up our own shelters even when they were illegal so now it’s time for men to step up and open their own if they want them so badly because literally no one is going to stop them. Men say that they’re protested until they’re shut down because then men can blame women for not having enough because they’re the ones who are supposedly getting them shut down, when the reality is that men just aren’t setting them up in the first place. The reality is that we’re not protesting and the reason they shut down is that they don’t have the funding to stay open. Their lack of funding is an issue (though not one feminist have anything to do with) which they need to fight for and resolve for themselves.
