it’s my song and my stage: maisie peters writing about being a writer and being in control of the narrative in that way
OPALITE 2026 — dir. Taylor Swift
A worker at the Chiefs game at Arrowhead reveals that Taylor Swift was running around wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and personally gifted them $600 as a thank you for working on Christmas Day:
'She was running around telling everyone merry Christmas and came towards me, saying thank you so much for working on Christmas, please take this, Merry Christmas. My mind just froze. Of course I said Merry Christmas and thank you so much. Travis and her were smiling so big and just kept saying merry Christmas, thank you for working Christmas. but then they were gone and I stopped to look at what was in my hand… $600. My whole paycheck for two weeks.''

I honestly think Gen-Z and younger simply does not understand how recent widespread smartphone adoption is.
I am not that old, and I didn't have a smartphone until probably late high school. For most of my life, many if not most people were not walking around with a magic internet machine in their pocket that they pulled out and used constantly for everything.
reblog if you remember having to ration your text messages and accidentally opening the internet on your phone was the end of the world
the way we just got an updated version of this photo

This is so fucking embarrassing. This is one of the most embarrassing business quips I have ever seen in my entire vile career.

im just not convinced humans were ever meant to be this busy
every day i am surrounded by people who need more naptime, and more playtime, and more storytime, and more playdates and parties and sleepovers. when it comes to worktime, however
This Calvin and Hobbes strip is as timeless as always
marcusmumford Thank you for putting your faith in me for this one @maisiehpeters , and letting me kinda go wild on the production. I can’t tell you how much fun it was to write and build this song up with Maisie - and I’m so stoked for you all to finally hear it. When she wrote that strawberries lyric I knew we had a ghostbop 👻 It’s put a spring in my step for a while now, and I hope it does for you all too. I only get one guitar solo per album with the lads in the band so to be 1/1 with Maisie is an exceptional batting average. Massive props to our wonderful co-conspirators @grettaray and Ian Fitchuk
The thing that really boils my potatoes about AI in general is that I have been a creative professional for over a decade now and the devil has ALWAYS been in the details. Big and small, I've had single-person businesses rip me to shreds over how their colors turned out on newsprint, and have worked with huge companies with THICK brand guidelines with every detail of their brand identity laid out and enforced with an iron fist.
But I guess all of that stuff doesn't matter anymore? Who gives a fuck if this AI generated baby has six fingers, that mom-and-pop shop is still going to use it. That rug from Temu says Happy Thanksgivirg? Oh well haha it's just a silly funny thing now (nevermind that you never would have given a B-grade item from a craft show the same consideration). I don't actually care that the AI Coca-cola ad has a truck that changes size every scene, but I can't help but think about how, if it had been some poor underpaid artist, they would have been laughed out of the building.
I don't really know how to put it in a succint way but it just feels all the more obvious how much more grace and flexibility has always been possible but never offered.
speaking from experience as someone whose income used to be dependant on social media, i still have OCD from the past 10 years if how frequently people would look at minor flaws in my work and would either call it cursed or tell me i need to go back and start learning fundamentals (something i already studied for 10 years before this time during school) and start drawing everything with 100% accuracy to realism. so you can imagine how crushing it is to develop that trauma and then when i turn around this decade suddenly all that doesn't apply when it comes to the technology that takes people's income away. funny how people's behaviour changes when there isn't a real person with needs and emotions involved.
Cause of madness: being completely right about Donald Trump and the press' loyalty to him starting in 2015. They've been mouthpieces for the GOP the whole damn time.
a belated spooky moment … this is vampire time it’s a song on my new album what do u think 😌

The word “forever” used to terrify me. I hate finality, there is too much uncertainty and boredom affiliated with “the rest of time.” Now though, I’ve found forever to mean there is limitless possibility. There is so much joy in the world, waiting to be found. That is something that Stick Season has shown me, that this year has shown me. Sometimes it just takes a change in perspective.
