WELCOME TO BLISSCLAN

Hi, I’m @the-moth-from-elsewhere, but you can call me Elsie! I’m your mod for the day.

This is a goofy little Clangen blog/side project/experiment where I start with two cats, seen below, who start a clan. I’ll be tracing and trying to preserve their lineage as much as I can. The goal is also to maybe figure out how to draw cats, but that’s a side quest lol. Don’t expect this to have high quality comics and art, I, as mentioned, cannot draw a cat for the life of me. Thus, most major stuff will actually be written out.

Hey Smokestar why is the clan so low on warriors? Did something bad happen?

“Many ‘something bad’s happened.

“A rogue warrior from Whisperclan, Olivebloom (@juniperstar), managed to sneak into our camp and kill Archwing and Applecloud (@speedythekitty).

“There was also a flood after a particularly snowy winter followed by a hot spring. All the runoff from Iceclan and Whisperclan’s territories submerged almost all our land, since we live on a floodplain. Honeypaw (@the-moth-from-elsewhere), Heatherfrond, and Eddie drowned, while Verminbright (@frozenclan) was poisoned by the sick fish afterwards.”

“And all through the past 24 moons, we haven’t had many kits survive past a moon old. Foxtail is the only one left of his litter, and Frostleaf has lost multiple litters to sickness and prey shortages. After Foxtail, Rainypaws is the next youngest Named cat, at least 60 or so moons between him and me.”

(So, uh. Sorry about killing all your donated OCs? And happy pride month to poor Verminbright and Eddie 😭. And a special apology to Juniperstar for making their Olive into a murderer; I’d made the sketch for that panel before asking for oc sacrifices, and bloom was the only one with sufficient fluff to fit it. And Honeystar has been turned into an apprentice due to me drawing them too small :’) But! Thanks for trusting me with them, they were all lovely to draw! ^^ )

What does everyone listen to when drawing or writing their Clangens? Or do you use specific songs for specific characters?

Contrary to JuniperClan's setting I listen to a LOT of 1950s soul/doo-wop, The Cramps, or anime openings LOL

Three kits.

Three beautiful kits.

Honeystar purred, everything was going so well, everything was going to be okay-

Emberheart trudged into the nursery, sitting down next to her and sighing. Tears stained the fur around his eyes. Honeystar tilted her head, confused.

“…WolverineClan has declared war.”

Honeystar found herself almost at a loss for words. 

“But- now?! I mean, our kits, there’s only two of us- What did we ever do to them?”

“We existed. They don’t think we’re a legitimate clan.”

…Honeystar laid her head on her paws, her hopes shattered…

MOON 6

Honeystar announced that she is having kits!

Emberheart has recovered from heatstroke!

The leaves were beginning to color themselves for their final dances upon the winds. Emberheart felt invigorated, eagerly going on patrol, and bringing back bunches of blackberries. Honeystar happily talked to him from her perch in the nursery, still as dependably excitable as ever. The star had returned to her crown, he wondered if he’d dreamt of it disappearing in the first place. No matter.

Their dreams, the whole reason they founded BlissClan, were finally coming true.

Emberheart has gotten heat stroke.

Emberheart felt his consciousness slowly turning to a fuzzy haze. Sleep, wake, eat, sleep…sleep…sleep…

Honeystar’s worried attempts at treatment were getting better. She was about as good as a young medicine cat apprentice at this point. The star marking on her forehead had disappeared, although it was difficult for him to register…

Had she lost her nine lives, her safety, even for just a moon or two, to help him? 

The syrupy sickness dragged his mind back down before he could ask.

Emberheart has gotten heat exhaustion.

Emberheart laid his heavy head down on the leaves. He felt useless. What if Honeyheart got sick while he was out of commission? What if-

His panic spiral was interrupted by Honeystar’s entrance into the medicine den. She quietly laid a few flowers at his feet, herbs that he’d asked her to gather. She was no medicine cat, but she’d gotten mostly the correct plants. 

Emberheart closed his exhausted eyes, mumbling something about her presence being as good as any medicine…
