I'm a writer and an artist and you can call me Scorpio or Dualliste.

This a multifandom blog and I occasionally reblog shitposts and other things too.

I also post a lot of ship art for Ichigo and Uryu, but I don't use the 'official' tag, so if you wanna filter that out it's #ichiuryu (I hate the actual ship name)

I'm sure I've complained about this here before, but it will always drive me nuts that the games only had generic spotted eggs while the anime had unique egg designs that actually matched the Pokemon. So you would think the games would finally update their eggs to be more unique because that's obviously way cooler and more interesting right???

Wrong! The anime just retconned their eggs to be the generic ones instead

I’m reading the Bleach manga while I’m recovering from surgery and I really like the intentional framing of Ichigo’s backstory with losing his mother in these really subtle moments. Having first watched the anime I know what happens, of course, but the way its presented in the manga is quite clever. In the beginning volumes her absence (and the reason for it) is much more tangible but not necessarily obvious.

Especially with Ichigo’s characterisation of “wanting to protect everyone (but only those important to him)” The first ever Hollow attack he experiences injures every member of his family.

There’s a few ways to read (specifically Rukia’s reaponse) so choose your own adventure but 1) you can see the hand of the author making Rukia backpedal on her encyclopedic knowledge of Hollows and how they “hunt indiscriminately” solely for the purpose of this emotional oomph for our dear protag. or 2) Rukia can hear 10 years of grief and self-blame dripping off Ichigo’s words as he questions his role in the situation.

The lines: “What? He was after me? All this… was cause of me?” How EASILY we could include the loss of his mother in there. When he says “all this” it could mean this specific attack, of course, or the attack on his mother and the wake that followed— the restructuring of his family and the consequences of what it means to be a person with high spirit energy.

I think Rukia’s response indicates that she hears that the “all this” Ichigo references here extends beyond the events of this specific attack. It’s subtle but it’s weighty.

Let the historical record show that Mr. Beast was entirely ignorable if you were just like doing literally anything else. I've been on youtube as long as it's been around and I've never been recommended a video by him. I see him in passing as a meme. I thought he was a made up joke, a caricature of bad youtuber content miners until someone I trust confirmed his existence to me in late 2025.
