For anyone in the US, the IRS just dropped a survey asking if people would like to file for free. People should take the survey!

this is quick and it is simple, and it looks like something the IRS is putting out so they can say "see, the public wants a free, easy tax filing service! please give us funding for this!"

the questions are basically "if you could file your taxes easily for free online, would you? would you rather do it with the IRS or with a private company? are you ok with the IRS spending $20 on processing your return (you still pay nothing, it is still free)?"

basically they're asking "do you want us to spend your tax dollars on making it easy for you to file your taxes for free?"

Gentle reminder to both patrons and creators, Patreon is forcing creators to switch over to the ‘new’ subscription billing method in November. Creators have no say in this despite giving vehement feedback against it. We can fill out a “delay” form but Patreon have made it clear this is inevitable.

They’re claiming it’s because Apple won’t let them support “first of the month” billing method anymore (press X to doubt) and if you sign up via an iPhone the above happens.

They really do keep finding more and more ways to take more fees 🫠
