@bloodybridefalling
happy pride! remember that being a transgender is everything but fiction. there are so many real historical figures from every century about whose transgenderism we aren't even aware of
Transphobia is about to be signed into law in the UK. We can fight this.
I am begging the UK trans community and its allies to attend the Mass Lobby at Parliament on June 25th, 11am-4pm, organised by Trans Solidarity Alliance.
Last year we broke the record for an LGBT+ mass lobby of Parliament. Will you help us break it again? Join us on 25th June 2026 to demand be
The new EHRC Code of Practice pushes trans people out of toilets, hospital wards, and community spaces. It normalises gender policing based on appearance and stereotypes. It becomes statutory guidance in the UK by the end of June.
Trans people are now legally their assigned gender at birth and must join gendered spaces accordingly, but if they are perceived as their lived gender, they can also be ejected from those spaces. The guidance says: either break the law, or don’t pass too well.
A mass lobby is where you invite your MP to discuss your concerns with you in-person. Ask your MP to:
Demand full parliamentary scrutiny, debate, and use their free vote on the EHRC Code of Practice.
Support any motions rejecting the EHRC guidance. As of June 4th, Labour MP Nadia Whittome has submitted a prayer motion - Early Day Motion 240.
Write to Bridget Phillipson, the Minister for Women and Equalities about our concerns
Your MP does not have to be an ally, they do not have to respond to your email for you to show up and greencard them (details below the cut.) What matters is that as many people as possible show up.
I cannot stress this enough: Showing up in person matters. It is much more effective than petitions, emails, and letters.
It is a horrible, stressful time, and I am so sorry if you're trans and live in the UK. But I was at last year's mass lobby and the line for greencarding alone stretched around the back gates. It was a record breaking mass lobby and made us impossible to ignore. Let's do even better this time. Details under the cut:
given the current climate this pride especially i feel i must mention that i love my trans friends, i stand with trans people in the fight against transphobic legislation and those who would enforce it, and this blog is not a good place for you to be if you do not vibe with that
Repost, now do your honors.
Trans people just existing is no more sexual than when cis people just exist.
@phineas-and-ferb-heritage-posts
phineas and ferb heritage post
There's a genre of post on Christian tumblr (and youtube and twitter and probably tiktok) that I absolutely DESPISE and it basically goes ''quippy deliberately inflammatory overly simplistic statement designed to put down another group (the one I saw most recently was directed against atheists) while stroking the ego of Christians* at their expense," and these posts basically always follow the same pattern which is:
Christians, gratified by being pandered to and told how great they are, respond with things like "so true" / "preach" / "you're right and you should say it" and after a brief window of back-patting and congratulating each other being so right and Better Than Those Other Guys (may I just say. Luke 18: 9-14) members of the targeted group find the post and take the offense that is so obviously being offered. Now it's always a good idea to just roll your eyes and scroll past when you see ragebait on the internet, but we all know most people don't do that, and it would be a mistake to assign the blame to the people responding to the post that is attacking them (however obliquely) rather than the people who actually posted the bait. Particularly because as Christians we actually should have higher expectations for the behavior of other Christians.
And with those expectations considered, prepare to be disappointed because the next part of the pattern is OP and the original Christian respondents snidely dog-piling on these outside interlopers ruining their self-congratulations party - although let's be honest. The party would not be complete without being crashed. The crashing is a feature, not a bug, these posts are designed to draw in their targets, and the mocking, making fun of, and "see-what-I-mean"-ing of it all is in fact the climax of the whole process.
(To be clear I think this isn't usually the conscious goal of people who make these posts. I think people usually make these posts thoughtlessly because they want to get interactions with their online friends and ganging up on The Outsider is an ancient way of reinforcing human tribal bonds. The connection with the ingroup is the goal, the outgroup is just a casualty and they don't care, but they should.)
And it's all super annoying. Ever since I started noticing this pattern I see it in the majority of online Christian content. It's wrong for multiple reasons:
It's harming the targeted group. It's putting the outgroup down for the amusement/ego gratification of the ingroup, which is bad in and of itself when anybody does it, but this has the added layer of giving these people a negative view of Christians and by inevitable extension, Christ Himself. You're actions are pushing people away from God and even if it's just a little bit, YOU SHOULD TAKE THAT SERIOUSLY. (and even a little bit can be the straw that breaks the camel's back.)
For the OPs of these posts, they're also drawing their fellow Christians into the mockery of priceless, irreplaceable children of God who Jesus loves and DIED FOR. Go read that C.S. Lewis quote about "you have never talked to a mere mortal." YOU ARE LEADING PEOPLE INTO SIN. STOP.
Quite frequently in the reply exchanges to these posts there comes a point (or several) where in response to something, one of the Christians will post an image of Christ with something along the lines of "because he said so" or some other quippy relevant line. You are using Jesus as a stick to beat people with. I'm pretty sure this counts as taking the Lord's name in vain. DON'T DO THAT.
By the way, it doesn't matter if the original substances of the post was technically true or not. Honestly I think it's worse if it is. 1 Corinthians 13.
(*or a specific denomination of Christians. I frequently see Catholics making this kind of post against Protestants and Orthodox, and Protestants and Orthodox against Catholics and each other but honestly the Catholic ones bother me most (context I am Catholic))
This is way the Christian faith is dieing in the USA.
We investigated how they charge more for less.
So, we now know on a direct statistical level that Dollar General is literally making the Vimes Boots Theory of Economic Unfairness into a part of its core business model.
Sweet jesus…
True, the chain pays its workers industry-low wages in under-staffed stores that can be magnets for armed burglary. And yes, Dollar Store management targets economically struggling communities, focusing on customers who make less than $40,000 a year and visit the store multiple times a week. “The economy is continuing to create more of our core customer,” CEO Todd Vasos said in 2018.
But to those working class consumers, Dollar General promises to deliver “everyday low prices.”
In reality, without knowing it, customers are often paying Whole Foods prices for dollar store groceries.
A More Perfect Union investigation reveals that Dollar General charges premium prices across a range of staple goods—52% more per pound for chicken breasts than its cheapest competitor, for instance—but masks the high cost from consumers by stocking smaller pack sizes.
In other words, Dollar General often charges more for less. It offers low absolute prices for national brands, but in smaller pack sizes than other stores, in order to push per-unit costs higher.
everyone: happy pride month 🌈

random PSA, I know a lot of people use duckduckgo as a Google alternative search engine, but it always kind of annoyed me when I was using it because it felt like No Name Brand Google
I have switched to using Startpage.com and vastly prefer it. for one thing, instead of displaying an "AI summary" at the top of the search results (unless you turn it off, yes I know), it displays the first paragraph of the Wikipedia article, with link, whenever it finds one that's relevant.
also a waaayyyyy better sense of design than duckduckgo
also private, European based, least annoying search I've used lately (RIP old "don't be evil" Google)
Keeping a list of Google alternatives just in case…
i have one of those, scraped from multiple different rec posts:
Search Engines
Infinity Search is an alternative search engine with a special focus on privacy
DuckDuckGo is a popular search engine for those who value their privacy and are put off by the thought of their every query being tracked and logged. Uses bangs, ![site] for in-page search (sells your data to microsoft and draws from fucking bing)
WolframAlpha is a privately owned search engine that allows you to “compute expert-level answers using Wolfram’s breakthrough algorithms, knowledgebase, and AI technology.” A data search engine.
Boardreader is a search engine for forums and message boards. It allows you to search forums and then filter down results by date and language.
Based in France, Qwant is a privacy-based search engine that won’t record your searches or use your personal details for advertising. Uses “&” as a bang search.
Another privacy-based search engine is Search Encrypt, which uses local encryption to ensure that users’ identifiable information cannot be tracked. Metasearch across multiple engines.
Offering unbiased results from several sources, SearX is a metasearch engine that aims to present a free, decentralized view of the internet. Can be self-hosted.

Disconnect allows you to conduct anonymous searches through a search engine of your choice.
Swisscows provides fully encrypted searches to protect your privacy and security. Built-in violence/porn filter cannot be overridden.
MetaGer offers “Privacy Protected Search & Find” through its anonymised search. A plugin will allow it to be made a default.
Gigablast is a private search engine that indexes millions of websites and servers real-time information without tracking your data, keeping you hidden from marketers and spammers. Variety of filtration and refinement options for searching.
Oscobo is a search engine that protects your privacy while you search the web. By not using any third-party tools or scripts, your data is protected from hacking and misuse. Has a Chrome extension to allow use in toolbar.
https://search.marginalia.nu/ an independent DIY search engine that focuses on non-commercial content, and attempts to show you sites you perhaps weren't aware of in favor of the sort of sites you probably already knew existed. Use old-school searching rather than query-based for the best results.
https://www.mojeek.com/
https://wiby.me/ - It’s goal is to index as many personalized websites as possible, and NOT commercial sites.
https://4get.ca/ it works a lot like SearX, but honestly better. It doesn’t have its own index, but pulls from many others. I think it’s the best for research, since it allows you to search for answers from different indexes, is easy to configure, add free, and avoids censorship as much as it can.
