First hike of the year with my love and my pup. Something about getting into the woods rejuvenates me. Everything is still mostly dormant, waiting for more consistent warmth to sprout. My body, too, has been dormant. Pushing myself on yesterday’s climb made me see that I have not treated this body of mine too kindly this winter. Time to come out of hibernation, and start growing strong.

Got my first piece of selenite today and replenished some of my incense stash. I helped my boyfriend’s mom pick out her first tarot deck, and the shop threw in a free yellow jasper. I’m gonna burn some of this moon incense Tuesday night. #witchy #selenite #incenseaddict

This year for Christmas, I was lucky to have the most loving and peaceful holiday I can ever remember. My partner and our families made the whole weekend feel special. I was given a number of amazing and thoughtful gifts, but I wanted to share the two most magical: An old-fashioned fortune teller’s teacup, and a pendant that is the Leo constellation stamped into an old drum cymbal. #fortunetelling #leo #witchcraft #yule #witchygifts #tealeafreading

I JUST overhauled my grimoire this year and transferred all the information into a brand-new book and… I think I have to do it again OTL. 

As much as I’ve tried, I just don’t think I’ll be happy unless it’s post-bound so I can move pages where I want them. It drives me up a wall to have to add on to a section pages later because I’d already moved on to something else… 

If you have any suggestions for witchy-looking post-bound books, I’d love to hear them ;A;

I considered going post-bound for my grimoire this year, but I decided to opt for a ringed binder so it would be easier to lay it flat to open pages when I wanted to use it. There are so many cool looking and different sized binders, now!

But if you’re really set on post-bound, I would look at photo albums. That’s what I almost used! Craft stores have a great selection, and usually you’ll be able to find appropriate paper for it at the same stop.

Today I greatly downsized my working altar to give myself more space, and enjoyed a nice cuppa in my new mug. It feels nice and refreshed. I didn’t realize how much STUFF had tried to claim a permanent spot here. P.S. Do I have enough Leo stuff yet? ♌️☕️🔮💫

I felt suddenly drawn to pulling cards from my Aquarian Tarot tonight, after not having touched this deck in ages. I’m so glad I did. I forgot how beautiful it was—and it gave me a message I really needed today. The suit of swords have been all about cutting, painful words for me lately. Sharp words and feelings and petty arguments can hurt, but don’t let them bring out your nasty side. Know that you can’t control what someone else will do. Stay high vibe, try to be your best self, and focus on what matters, what brings you joy. What better way to spend the Samhain season than going for a hike in the woods? I could really take in the changing of nature around me, of the withdrawal and decay. I saw this cluster of trees and was immediately struck by how much it resembled the 3 of Wands. While this is a time to appreciate what is dead and dying, I am also embarking on a new journey of sorts, of embracing change and new horizons, and letting go of what may have felt secure but held me back. I am energized by the love and growth both within and around me.
